Bulldogs2011
Since Angleton destroyed Foster Friday, they will likely play Friendswood and Foster will get Dawson. Angleton still has to beat Terry but that won't be a problem. I'm calling a Foster over Dawson upset!!!!

Yes, their defense isn't playing all that great, but they have a great offense that can score in bunches. Also they had their bye week last week and should be ready for us. We'll see.I was surprised that Foster was manhandled they way they were. Coach Wiatrek is a good coach, but Coach Roark and his staff made adjustments after the half and literally dominated the Falcons. Wiatrek didn't have an answer for that. with that said, Foster is a real solid team and will give problems to whoever they play.

If we would have done any of those, we would have won the game. If there is ever such a thing as a good loss, that was one of them. Woke some of the seniors up who thought they just had to show up. I said "most years Huntsville and Montgomery are the only teams on the schedule you have to worry about." Second, SC did go 9-1 in basically the same district y'all are in now with a bunch of sophomores in their 3rd year of varsity play. What situation was Lee put in, was he cursed with the best running game and defense in the nation? They won inspite of his play. Jarrett Lee is just as good as Garrrett Gilbert, career paths on the same trajectory. Magnolia West does suck this year too, it's crazy that you're arguing they don't. Didn't y'all go 10-0 last year too, only to lose to Ozen (19-4a/20-4a bi-district) in the second round? I know you think Brenham is great because y'all can consistently beat Magnolia and Willis, but like your record shows, if you played in the SETX you would be just another team trying to get out of the bi-district.
Come on dude... Brenham played for a region championship in 08 and State Championship in 09..... Just because they got bounced early a couple times, doesn't mean they aren't a legitimate threat to go deep almost every year. Lee was the QB when they knocked off LM in 05 I believe also.... You get the weaker Austin teams in bi-district every year in the 1st rd and lately lose in the area round. 08 and 09 were great years for Brenham, 2005-2011 were pretty run of the mill in playoff terms though. The #1 19 4A seed would have a much easier road to the regional final than the #2.
Not too sure about that. Whoever gets Georgetown in the second round is in for a fight. When thinking of a nuetral sight between the Houston and Austin area, one main venue comes to mind. ;) It could possibly be a show down at Cub Stadium. ;D
I know it's worse in 5a but here's another one of my stats. Last two years in 5a Georgetown was 7-13, now they somehow make the 4a cutoff and start punishing people. Three largest shcools in the region Summer Creek, Georgetown, and Dawson are all undefeated and have over 2000 kids.
Last year is done though. It's like me saying Brenham is a top team in the state. We were the past few years, but kids graduate. Georgetown is pretty darn good this year.
None of Dawson's kids graduate, hard for them to lose a game in 4a? The last 5 years Travis won state in 4a none of their players graduated? Manvel didn't have an advantage on Dayton last year? If coaching is relatively equal those 6 or 700 extra kids make a big difference. Brenham does have good talent, my cousin told me Brown is already the third best tackle on the team as a true freshman. Even though he was rated second I thought he was the best d-tackle in the country after watching him at the All-America game. Let's be honest though, Brenham gets a big advantage with the district y'all play in and you always go D2. Only two team you have to worry about on the schedule most years are Huntsville and Montgomery. I think if y'all played down here that record wouldn't look so pristine.
Dawson and Manvel are just full of talent. Who cares how big they are though? So what, if they are deeper than we are. We can play with and occasionally beat both of them. If you don't believe me, ask songone. it looks pretty even when we scrimmage every year. As for LT.... $ = $ucce$$, and they have a lot of both. Brown was the nation's #2 DT, but during the all-American game practices he had already passed Goldsmith. After it was all said and down, he was eventually ranked #1. They showed the practices on ESPNU. As far as our district goes, we don't just win din district games. In the last 4 years were 40-6 all together. That's district, non-district & playoffs combined. I'd say we do well no matter who we play. TAPPS 4AD2 to 5A, we beat more than 90% of the teams we play. BTW, we go D2 cuz we have to. Heck, we have 1,436 kids, and are the eighth biggest of the nine schools in 18-4A.
These are the rankings after the Under Armour game.http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/playerrankings/_/class/2012/order/trueThese are the final rivals rankings.http://rivals.yahoo.com/okvarsity/football/recruiting/player-Malcom-Brown-103353Like I said, they never ranked him #1 but it doesn't matter because he still has the opportunity to be a first round pick. I agree the money makes you more successful (Travis, Allen, Carroll, Highland Park), but when you're like La Marque and have Dawson with 2000+, Friendswood 2000+, Manvel 2000+, if you lose a player or two you are at a severe disadvantage. La Marque finishes 3rd in the district with 3a numbers, then goes to the regional final in D2 where they play teams with like enrollments and eventually lose to their district rival Manvel again. You can OCCASIONALLY play with them, not play them every year in the first round and win. A prime example is the the 2010 season when Brenham went 10-0 in the regular season and lost in the first round to KP. The same KP team Dayton (7-3 regular season) beat by 32 the next week. Brenham is a great program, try not overstate your place though. There's a reason Lee was highly recruited out of Brenham and sucked once he got to LSU, his level of high school competition wasn't what they thought it was.
Lee played against top talent at Brownwood & Brenham. Guess he sucked so bad, that he's part of the the Chargers organization. It is the practice squad, but still. Your crazy if you think he's not good. He had a rough time at LSU, cuz of the situation he was thrown in to. Anyways, Malcom was #1 on The Old Coach last year, but I'm sure he's already on his way to proving the naysayers wrong, that thought differently. Ask big bad SC how good Magnolia West was last year? That's right, the team you say is so horrible and is from the district you say is overrated, destroyed 19-4A's powerful SC team.
sory, but SC wasn't powerful last year, they were full of babies and were picked to finish 5th.....we were just happy to be there :)
BrenhamFan
Coog8bronco, that's some of the dumbest stuff I've heard on here. Is Brenham as good as Lake Travis or SLC, no but we arn't no pushover. Not ever..... Overlook us please... As for playing in SETX, what region is SETX? I'm pretty sure it's 3, which is the same region we've had so much success in. As for Crosby, you guys got bounced by us last time we played you, and your biggest accomplishment is beating Dayton once for a district title. Also, we usually play Houston Lamar, or somebody like that in addition to Huntsville & Montgomery. Hopefully we'll meet in the playoffs where this can be settled. Lee was tossed into the loaded SEC as a freshman. (That's what I was referring to, but like I said, SD saw something in him.)

I think Brenham is a great program, I just think if they played in one of the southern districts with Dawson, Friendswood, Texas City or Crosby, BH, Dayton, SC, or Ned, Vidor, Ozen that y'all wouldn't have those 10-0's and 9-1's all the time. I think you would still go to the playoffs and of course go D2, but when you actually have to fight for a playoff position and play hard district games the playoff routes aren't that easy. As for Lee, I was just saying he was at LSU 5 years and couldn't earn the job, Jefferson beat him out and he was average on his best days. Gilbert is going to make and NFL roster too, what are your thoughts of him, if you think he's good then fine? I think you're on BH's side of the brackett but I would love to see it again, last time y'all beat us in the second round by a touchdown 'cause we couldn't hold on to the ball then got destroyed by Dayton in the regional final. I would love to see the rematch but I don't think we could play y'all 'til the 3rd round at the earliest because we all have #1 D2 seeds.
