Barbers Hill (6-2, 4-2) at Humble Summer Creek (8-0, 6-0)
Arguably the best game of the night takes place down in the greater Houston area, and it has major implications for District 19-4A. Summer Creek has already clinched a playoff berth, and Barbers Hill is looking to join the club with a win. This is a matchup of two of the premier defenses in southeast Texas, as the two teams are combining to allow an average of 11.4 points per game. But there’s also tons of firepower on display here. Between the patented Ronnie Gage run game of Barbers Hill, led by Nikolas O’Neal, Kaleb Denny and Parker Speer, and the sling-it-around-the-yard ability of Summer Creek QB Aaron Sharp, there’s lots of contrast. What’s more, if Summer Creek wins, it would set up one of only four remaining battles of unbeatens in the state, as Summer Creek plays 9-0 Dayton next week. Truckloads of intrigue here.
Tepper’s pick: Humble Summer Creek 34, Barbers Hills 28

Also here is a little something on weak Elkins  ;D

Fort Bend Elkins (4-4, 3-2) at Fort Bend Travis (5-3, 4-1)
WARNING: Do not look directly at the District 23-5A standings. Neurologists have reported that they can make your head hurt. Nobody’s in yet, but that could change tonight if Travis can knock off Elkins, thus clinching a playoff spot. On the flip side, if Elkins beats Travis? CHAOS. This game will likely come down to the pace of play. Elkins wants to keep the score low, leaning on its defense of LB Kerrie Renchie and LB Jaylon Bowden. Travis, on the other hand, will want this to be as much of a track meet as possible, getting QB Teagan Nehls and his array of wide receivers like Parker Smith and Cody Moncure in space as much as possible. You know what? I think I see chaos on the horizon.

    • Are you really gonna talk about decorum from a President while supporting the guy who effectively has no such decorum? Just last night the former president (and would-be despot) was in Arizona talking with Tucker Carlson and fantasized about Liz Cheney in front of a firing squad… after calling her dumb, of course.     Trump didn’t just “defecate all over the office of the President”…. He is a piece of excrement.
    • I personally hope PN-G gets 2nd gets to the 2nd round wins the flip against SOC and drag them them to Houston to play
    • I like option number two, PNG and Nederland both win. Nederland i’ll be the district champion, number 1 seed or whatever you want to call it. Yes I know that if two or three teams tie with the same record, they will be called co-champions and everyone gets a trophy. One team however will go in as the first place team in district and will play the fourth place team in the bi-district round. If PNG and Nederland both win, Nederland will be #1. • Virginia has same day voter registration. A person can literally walk in to the voting location, register and then vote. So the premise that Virginia might be stopping people with a legitimate right to vote is nonsense. From what I gather in the news report, assuming that the ones I have read are correct, the people that were removed, filled out a drivers license registration and marked that they were not an American citizen. Could the person have made a mistake bychecking the box incorrectly? Although unlikely it is certainly possible. That same person who was removed can go into the same voting location where he would have voted and again, complete a voter registration and then vote.  That went into the Supreme Court’s decision.  If such a person votes by registering on election day, he fills out a provisional ballot. Provisional ballots are not originally counted and or not counted unless needed. For example….  Statewide there are 500 provisional ballots cast. A person wins the election by 4,000 votes. That would be no need to count the provisional ballots as it will not matter. Then let’s say there are 5,000 provisional ballots cast in the election. One candidate then wins the election by only 1,500 votes. In that case, the election could definitely swing on those provisional ballots. The state will then investigate each person to make sure they live at the correct address listed and that they are American citizens. If these things are correct, the vote will then be counted. Safe Harbor is not untillll…… I think December 17th this year so there will be six weeks to verify the provisional ballots if needed. The purging of the names of people who checked a state form saying that they were not an American citizen, will not stop that same person from voting.
