I agree with you Stangfan, Vidor does need some passing plays to add to the very lethal running game. I have said that since back in the 80's.
And that is all I am saying....Would like for Vidor to have that extra weapon!!!

May see more passing next year as our running QB, MQ, will graduate.  Still, the Slot-T, by it's very nature, is a run-heavy offense.
Livingston's version is more varied with the shotgun, zone read, and even some spread with quite a bit more passing.  I think all the "extras" that the Lions run  may be geared to Collins' abilities however and that makes their version more of a hybrid Slot-T, rather than Vidor's "pure" slot T.

I have said this time and time again, Coach Mathews is one of the classiest guys I know. He never stops fighting for equal calls and his, as well as others, players safety. I have yet to see another coach beat him to an injured player whether it be one of his own or an opposing player. That alone speaks volumes for him.
as demonstrated tonight.

Iam not quiet sure why Collins did what he did tonight? A player of his caliber does not need to do that imo. Montana gets talked about alot  on this sight. Sure looked like he was trying to turn this into a look at me game after Montana scored his first touchdown and Collins walked all the way to our sideline beside him holding up the hookem  horns and jawing

There are similarities between QB's, both are their teams main offensive weapons, both start on defense, both are very athletic, etc, etc., but if Collins was going into this game looking at it as a Chevoski vs Montana matchup, then I think he wound up being a little disappointed.

he repeated that action in the fourth quarter when the refs were trying to figure out what down it was. walked towards our sideline, gave the hookem horns sign, pointed at himself and then pointed at our sideline and gave a thumbs down. and  did the same thing towards the fans after the handshake and so did one of the liv coaches. don't know what the deal was, but that was as classless as it gets.

All i know is that when you have 25 to 30 police officers watching the handshake  the refs  definitely let the game get out of hand
and 20 of them escorted the refs off the field.

I have a trusted source saying Livingston players spit at Vidor players during post game handshakes. Trust me, this person knows what they are talking about.

The dirtiest and least classy team I have ever seen on a field. Don't like that comment? Truth stings worse than a lie

Why? I'm so tired of hearing about us not passing...we average approx. 35 point per game and beat the other team down. Most 4A schools have players that go both ways and they run out of gas (i.e. Collins). It's a scheme, a rhythym. We run the ball, run the clock, wear the other team down. We used to throw the ball all the time, what did it get us? This offense and this scheme has put us into the playoffs three of the last four years and maximizes the talent we have while negating the other teams. It cuts down the opportunities they have the ball. If you want the spread, go watch png.
