mighymouse490 Posted November 5, 2012 Report Posted November 5, 2012 going to burst everyone's bubble that keep throwing in local stadiums(butch,lamar,pn-g,PAM) these might be okay stadiums for 1st rd only, unless there is a home and home flip. the location of where teams have to come from to play is not ideal for teams coming from houston area. the triangle is just a bad spot for playoffs games(pop warner is okay). 1st rd yes. otherwise stallworth and head west for venues after round 1.

Pasadena used to, but I have not been there in a while.

Eagle11 Posted November 5, 2012 Report Posted November 5, 2012 I miss the old Astrodome and Rice Stadium days......early rounds you could pay $5 and watch 4 games......good times

Can't wait!

CoachTater Posted November 7, 2012 Report Posted November 7, 2012 Does anyone consider Hardin as a possible venue? Turf field but small visiting bleachers. Maybe 1A or small 2A teams.

First round games between 19 and 20-4a don't have any neutral sights. The Butch is about 75 miles from most 19-4a schools and Lamar is even further. I think the best spectator/most neutral venues are:1. Memorial Stadium (Pasadena) 16k +2. Stallworth Stadium (Baytown) 16k +3. GPISD Stadium (North Shore) 10k +4. Berry Center (Cypress) 10k + 5. Memorial Stadium (Channelview) 8k + Turner Stadium (Humble) 10k + and the Berry Center are great venues to play the teams from the norther part of the region in.
jayhawk Posted November 7, 2012 Report Posted November 7, 2012 I think Livingston with their no-parking state of the art vistor's stands would be an excellant venue not to mention Reba and the home cooking ref's to seal the deal - ;D ;D ;D
CoachTater Posted November 7, 2012 Report Posted November 7, 2012 Channelview? Only holds 8K. What is the capacity at BH or Dayton? Just curious

Just curious
Channelview can probably get 10k in there, just like Stallworth can probably fit about 18 or 19k. Those are just listed figures I put up. I know when we played in BH last year the attendance was about 7k total and I didn't have room to open my legs on the visitor side. Dayton can probably hold 8k + but the visitor's side can get tight, home side looks like it will hold 6k by itself. BH and Dayton are good neutral playoff sights for 3a and under games.

Vidor and Crosby put more folks in that stadium than the main tenant usually does only to have all of 1 concession stand open to the public.
They corrected that problem for the Nederland Game. If you play there someone needs to make sure Chartwells has enough concession stands open. I am sure they are use to Lamar playing on Saturday with no one in the stands...
