IhoopAllDay Posted November 4, 2012 Report Posted November 4, 2012 In high school basketball would you rather have a dominating post player ala Colton Weisbrod, Tyler Edwarda, ToeToe Wilridge or a great point guard like Kobi Jones and Jared hunter
stevenash Posted November 4, 2012 Report Posted November 4, 2012 If forced to make that decision at the high school level, I would be inclined to want the guard.
BLUEDOVE3 Posted November 4, 2012 Report Posted November 4, 2012 Get me some good defensive quick guards and your post won't matter. ;)
BEARCAT Posted November 5, 2012 Report Posted November 5, 2012 Based on LCM's year last year I would agree with the other posters. Give me a dominating point over a dominating post.
AggiesAreWe Posted November 5, 2012 Report Posted November 5, 2012 Those players mentioned above are very nice players. But you give me Shaq which class 3A San Antonio Cole had when he was in high school, I'll take the dominant post player. ;) ;D
2-2-1 Posted November 5, 2012 Report Posted November 5, 2012 depends on the classification. at the 1a/2a level gimme that post bro.

In the state championship game, on several occasions Shaq led the fast break.

5GallonBucket Posted November 5, 2012 Report Posted November 5, 2012 I see the PG as I see a Quarterback. Most important position on the team.
BLUEDOVE3 Posted November 5, 2012 Report Posted November 5, 2012 Yep, the receiver can't get the ball if the QB can't get it to them
BADSANTA Posted November 6, 2012 Report Posted November 6, 2012 Give me a post all day with scent guards! Post can stop you from scoring on one end, dominate the boards, and score at will on offense.

asary Posted November 6, 2012 Report Posted November 6, 2012 One dominating post cant stop guards on a fast break......even if he can run the floor
2-2-1 Posted November 6, 2012 Report Posted November 6, 2012 that's one VERY small portion of the game, fast breaks. In the half court what is a guard going to do from preventing a post from getting offensive/defensive boards and scoring? IMO, which i know means nothing to anyone on here, but it is much easier to contain a guard on the perimeter than a post down low.
rc2182 Posted November 6, 2012 Report Posted November 6, 2012 Give me a guard that can push it up the floor ,and set up the play or be a play maker.Do not need a post player looking for the ball in the paint near as much.

mytwocents-28 Posted November 6, 2012 Report Posted November 6, 2012 I'd rather have a big man down low but that's just me.

If you have that dominant post then footwork is clearly not an issue, if it were then he wouldnt be dominant. think real hard ha!
