cooligan Posted November 7, 2012 Report Posted November 7, 2012 Question for Abe or any other NED fan. I keep hearing about Ned's Fab Freshman guard from Memorial. I keep hearing from several knowledgeable BB guys that he is the best ball handler in Ned and should be up on Varsity. Although, English usually keeps his Fresh down and together will this kid make the jump or will he play down all year?

With some guys out at the start of the year for football, he could play up on varsity.. But it is what it is for now
cooligan Posted November 7, 2012 Report Posted November 7, 2012 Have you seen him play? Is he the real deal as has been described to me?
CThoops Posted November 7, 2012 Report Posted November 7, 2012 Very talented for a freshman, and can handle the ball.. When his time comes a few years from now, he will be a force at the guard spot, but for now, he is a freshman looking for a spot on a varsity team that returns almost all key players and reserves ;)

Anyway, he is very talented, and he COULD contribute on Varsity later in the year. As of now, he is not ready, IMO. if he is good enough, English will NOT keep him with the Fresh group simply to keep them together. As you may remember, Weisbrod was brought up mid season when he was a Freshman. As far as being the best ball handler, he is good but not better than all of the Varsity kids. A true point guard is what this team is missing. Since he is a true PG, he may find a spot on this year's Varsity squad. Would love to see it so Z. English can be more of a scorer as he won't spend so much energy on bringing the ball up the court. I have seen him play, and I believe he COULD be the real deal, only time will tell. Depends on his work ethic and his desire.
cooligan Posted November 7, 2012 Report Posted November 7, 2012 Thanks for the info. Can't wait to see his skills. He is getting great hype right now. IMO Ned needs help getting the ball up the court. Hopefully this kid can help. BD3 Have you seen him play?

They all lettered on Varsity last year. They're 6'4"6'3", and 6'2" and all are physical.
fisherman2 Posted November 8, 2012 Report Posted November 8, 2012 Kelly is also waiting on some players from football 2 starters most likely and 1 sub. Maybe more subs not sure. Also the freshman at Nederland that is really good went to Legacy for middle school I'm pretty sure. And he is real good. Also I believe Kelly lost to WOS by 7 or something like that. Kelly should be pretty good this year all we are missing is size. And we are missing it big time.
Franchiseball Posted November 8, 2012 Report Posted November 8, 2012 If Kelly is missing size then they should have trouble with Buna tonight.
