Atleast Maxpreps puts you on the map.  Dayton's prior ranking was out of respect for the program.  SC is still under-ranked.

All I can hope for Vidor is you better not trot out some kids looking like BH or Dayton.  You'll leave with 50 points hung on  you. And PLEASE don't try to impress the forum by telling us how many points you didn't get beaten by ...LOL!  "Yeah, we lost, but it wasn't that bad."  You still got that L.
You don't understand Dawg. Even though the stats against good teams said Dayton couldn't move the ball and they didn't, you have to throw them out the window. The stats said Dayton was having trouble with the run and that SC could sling it all over the field, even though Dayton got it ran down their throat and Sharp chunked it all over the place you have to throw the numbers out of the window. I know Vidor only averages 32.6 passing yards per game with 1 td and 4 ints, but they really can throw it if they need to. They also average 400 ypg rushing and have breakaway speed. As much heart as these kids have, I would just tell Sharp not even to come down the beltway.

In my eyes, this means nothing. Again, an upset can happen on all levels. Take the Falcons who were 8-0 playing against a bad Saints team who were 3-5 but yet they won! Please continue to let the heads of SC swell and swell, we will be more than happy to assist you in popping your bubble.  ;D
Anybody watching the games knew you couldn't keep squeaking by one win teams and coming back in the 4th quarter. The statistics didn't warrant Atlanta being an 8 win team and the first time they didn't get a Cam Newton turnover or a Roddy White bomb late, they lost. The stats said they were giving up too many yards, and that's exactly what turned out to be their downfall. SC isn't playing people close. And if stats really mean nothing, why does the NFL make you list an injury report. If the W.A.R is the same there shouldn't be a need for an injury report, but the stats are what odds-makers set the lines on and what gamblers bet on. Listen to ESPN radio when they talk about matchups, they justify EVERY prediction with stats. I guess those guys don't know anything either though.

After watching the BH tape I feel even better about Vidor's chances. SC bites hard on misdirection and Vidor is a master at that. SC will be making adjustments to that 5 man front very quickly. Don't worry though SC fans, you will probably be able to catch most of Vidor's runners from behind. As I said earlier, if you rely on your speed and athletism, without being disciplined, your kids will be watching the Vidor runners going by them before they realize who has the ball. BH and Vidor's O is not the same. With Vidor all you ever know is the QB had the ball first. You actually have to tackle all that get the fake handoffs as well. I see a lot of frustrated D players for SC early on. It will be interesting to see how good your coaches really are, cause even with all that talent, they will have to coach this game.

Probably gonna look a lot alike.

Not everyone can have 2100+ in their school. SC is playing by the rules, but just like with Manvel last year, the average sized 4A's are at a competitive disadvantage.

If Vidor has to pass, this game is over.  I hate those misdirection offenses, but they tend to be slow in getting out the gate.  How strong is Vidor's O line?  What did Nederland do to stop the misdirection?

The biggest handicap any high school defense has is their defensive backs.  It's hard to find good DB's at the pro level, let alone at the high school level.  At team that can pass like SC is very hard to stop.  Vidor may use up a lot of clock to get a score, but SC can roll up points quick.  If you rely on a slow to score running game, you can find yourself in a deep hole by a high powered passing offense.  This game plays to SC's in a large way.  We just need to rack up a few TD's early (as usual).  Vidor will have to abandon the run or risk not having a enough time to catch up.

I love when Montana turns his back to hand off and then turns back around looking at the defensive players as if saying, "nope, sorry I don't have the ball!"

Vidor made mistakes that game and was missing a third of our offense that night. Ned capitalized on our mistakes and won the game.

All chat aside, it will be fun to see just how good/bad each team is on Friday.  Please be advised, if SC rolls Vidor like they rolled Dayton (and the rest of the district), I'll be back here to remind all the nay-sayers of their words.

Friday will be fun regardless.  I LOVE TEXAS HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL!  I'm from the Northeast and Texas football is INCREDIBLE.

If you're going by MaxPreps the final score will be 48-42 SC. However, neither team will score 40+. Vidor 27 -SC 21.

Does MaxPreps really believe that team will score 42 points on our Defense ::)

When you compare teams on MaxPreps it just takes the average scoring on each team. MaxPreps rankings is also based on stats.

Vidor will have to abandon the run or risk not having a enough time to catch up.

very true.... every year against good passing attacks, I hear fans complaining about this. It's just the way it is, and most teams can do very little to stop it, unless you've got a GREAT D-Line or just flat out superior athletes all over the field.

I'm from the Northeast and Texas football is INCREDIBLE.
yeah texas high school football is great. If sc does win this region any team from around the dallas area would be ones to watch. They have excellent coaching up there and tons of talent and enrollment #s similar to sc. I dont think a 4a team from this region has won a title in around 6 years.

SC doesn't run a 5 man front. They play a 3-4 and walk the linebackers down or around the line of scrimmage. You have to double the nose (#76) which allows those two beast middle linebackers to just stand in the middle and wait. If your tackles can single the ends then you get to deal with the other two linebackers on off-tackle plays. Much like BH, Vidor can't throw so on film you see them not respecting the pass. They won't respect the 300 yards Vidor has on the year passing either. I'm going to drive over to Deer Park and catch this one so I hope Vidor does put up a good fight, but we barely broke 100 rushing with the twins and I don't think Vidor can throw it like we did to keep it close for a while. I'll be eating crow while I'm reporting from the game if Vidor does find a way to consistently move the ball though, just don't think after 10 games of being a beast against the run SC is going to forget how to defend it.

3 down lineman and 2 Lbs upright on the ends. Sounds like five OTLS to me. You are leaving the middle open and their talent is trying to react to the ball. Those inside LBs will be out of position early. They will make adjustments cause their going to have trouble finding the ball. Again we will see how they are coached and how willing they are to stick to the program. Long drives and a running clock will keep Vidor in it, but it will be tough. As I said earlier SC is for real and should win out in the end. One thing is for sure -- I do not see a similar score to Dayton/SC. I have had many people tell me Dayton laid down early, Vidor on the other hand won't.
