bronco pride Posted November 12, 2012 Report Posted November 12, 2012 Watch the video that sc was nice enough to post of the game. In particular watch the sc pick 6. Sc had 6 defenders 25 yds off the ball when the pass was thrown deep. Dayton had 1 receiver standing on the other side of the field with one defender basically just standing about 5 yds off the line of scrimmage. If ned plays 2 deep safties and all we do is run deep routes dayton wil lose. Daytons play calling makes me very nervous and to beat ned they will have to come out with alot more intensity than they did against sc.

No one from dayton listens to cougar14[/b][/quote]You probably should have for the SC game, I told you if you keep running those same three plays you're going to get your teeth kicked in. You should also listen when I tell you Hancock is no Stewart. Hopkins is 41.3% of the total Ned offense, which would be around half if he played during the ends of games. Your qb is averaging 123 per game passing and has 11tds with 6 picks. Shaw is averaging 39.5 yards per game on 2.8 receptions, I know he can get behind you though. I'm just trying to figure what else you have on O besides Hopkins? Y'all struggle to gain 300 yards a lot of times. I could be missing something though.

I'm not the coach... I have no effect on the playcalling...... I don't even think I made a prediction on the game. I did underestimate SC a bit though.... i knew they were good, just not how good they were.

A lot of my high school and college classmates have coaching jobs now, not saying they're Bill Walsh but my football knowledge is more than sufficient. I would be coaching now if I didn't get a 6 figure job when I graduated college. Y'all just kill me because I like stats and sometimes they don't agree with what you think about your own team. I know Crosby sucks, but at least I don't wear team colored shades.
dogbite Posted November 12, 2012 Report Posted November 12, 2012 Nederland will never be a team to have dominant stats, no matter how dominant they are. They always let up and show sportsmanship in the later quarters. Neumann himself come out and said he's not always as good of a coach as "the favorite" or with a big lead. Nederland's stats rarely tell the story of the team you will face.

Razor Posted November 12, 2012 Report Posted November 12, 2012 ask the Dallas Cowboys about stats...they are near the top of the league in total offense and defense yet sit at 4-5

My entire worldview must now be reconsidered. On Hancock, granted he's no Stewart, but no one expected him to be. This is his second year at the helm and he's won more times than not. The playoff streak is still alive and 9-1 isn't bad.

Razor Posted November 12, 2012 Report Posted November 12, 2012 good point, pride...Nederland is the exact opposite...not sure what the plus/minus is for Nederland but I know they have 17 interceptions alone this season...Nederland is a defense/field position team...they play that strategy well
WordMan2 Posted November 12, 2012 Report Posted November 12, 2012 Dayton will come out ready to play after Friday night's performance. Nederland wont stop them.
bulldog1984 Posted November 12, 2012 Report Posted November 12, 2012 i agree with razor. you can throw stats out the window when playing Nederland. We are slower, smaller, and usually average in stats but we find ways to win. just so happens this year we have a few big men uo front but we cant stop anyone... lol Nederland will win this game and doesnt matter what the score is. just a win ;D

Razor Posted November 12, 2012 Report Posted November 12, 2012 exactly...stats are only valuable if you look at all of them, not just a select few like you did earlier

This is the key to ned's D.... they allow those LB's to make a ton of tackles and make the secondary look good too. Not that the LBs and secondary aren't good, but the DL makes them better.

cornhusker Posted November 12, 2012 Report Posted November 12, 2012 I agree dayton the front four makes it go for the linebackers and secondary. They play well together and have team unity. It should be a great game. Go Dogs.

DemDAWGS! Posted November 12, 2012 Report Posted November 12, 2012 I'm going to the Dayton vs Nederland game. If Dayton plays Nederland close or beats them ...then you gotta consider that Nederland BEAT Vidor. It really makes any hopes of a good game between Nederland & Summer Creek seem unlikely. We already know what SC will do to Dayton if we see them again. I'm really going to the game to see how strong Nederland is at this point in the season.
