UHFALCON Posted November 12, 2012 Report Posted November 12, 2012 where is montana quirante going to college?
theoneandonly Posted November 12, 2012 Report Posted November 12, 2012 Offense: Considering Montana ALSO plays defense the ENTIRE game at Linebacker, (a very physical position by itself) I would say Montana for sure. Can u imagine his stats if he got to rest on Def? As a bonus, he also punts for the Pirates.

But do not be suprised if i was wrong.
robanadana Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 Montana is the BEST football player in the area, bar none. I have a really hard time if he doesn't garner @ least 1. Should be Super Gold player of the Year as well. Ask yourself one question: if you're picking a football team and you can have any player in the area, who do you choose. I know I'm a homer supreme but really? He got hosed last year but name the player who is honestly better. He has schooled every team's best performer he has played against...with humility @ that. BTW, I have pix of those lessons if you want them.

understand Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 The high school Tebow is good but lets see what he does on the next level, most know what will stop him on the next level.

Especially considering that he is the main threat for vidor. In most games he has 130-200 yards rushing. That's a shutout and a win to boot!

badndn Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 Nederland forced Mathews to call 16 passing plays, that's why they won. 5 of 16 for 60 yards is 3.8 yards per play which is well below the 10 yards per carry Q averaged on the ground most games. All told they held him to less than 5 yards per play.Montana will win one of the two awards. The QB from PA or Reed from Silsbee could win offense, but they're both Juniors. Someone from that WOS defense will have a say in that award as will the Ned secondary (who had all the picks).

cornhusker Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 The Dogs would love to play Vidor again. That would mean we both had a great run and by the way it would be the same resullts as first game.

Guest Johnny Moxon Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 Like it was said from Jump Street, Montana is the best all around player in SETX, no question. Nederland did slow him down a bit and yes a lot of yards came on one play, but he would have gotten them regardless. Offensively, the kid from EC is really good, but you have to look at who their competition is too. If he could put up those stats in 20-4A, no doubt. Montana only came off the field on KO, KOR, PR and XP, thats it! If the kid had rest, wouldn't even be a discussion. Any player that racks up over 1,700 yards rushing and 30TDs is impressive. Not to mention the other RBs on the team were over 500 yards too. It's not like he was getting all the touches. You can't argue with his talent. As far as him performing on the next level? I definitely don't see him as a QB, but would love to see him go to The Naval Academy and play there. I think he would have a great opportunity and he would make a fine Marine Corps Officer. Defense, that one is up in the air to me. I'm a QB by trade so I'm partial anyway. When I played for Vidor back in the 90's, we beat Silsbee and PNG my senior year. We were 5A then not very good. I've ran the option and know how difficult reads are. This kid is a natural. Hats off to him on a great career at VHS.
KB24 Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 Newtons D.J. Dean: For the season his passing stats are 33/62 751 yards and 8 TDRushing is 54 carries for 645 yards 12 TD23 tackles on the seasonNewtons Best...
Guest EagleFan01 Posted November 14, 2012 Report Posted November 14, 2012 actually Newtons best would be Kevin Shorter.. He would be well over 2000 yards rushing if he didn't get pulled before halftime every game of the regular season
