Huntsville is pretty solid on both sides of the ball.  They will try and establish the running game, but they can throw it too.  Their QB can take off running as well.  My problem with Huntsville is that [b]they can't seem to play 4 quarters of football[/b].  If they did, they would be tough to beat.  They usually start off slow and give up a TD in the 1st 3 minutes of the game before they realize that they actually have to play. [b] They probably should have beaten Brenham[/b] but mistakes and turnovers generally appear at critical times.  Huntsville can certainly win this game, but it all comes down to making plays.

We are weak this year, but not usually.  Our district maybe weak this year, not as week as 20-4A.  If you can beat 3 out 4 extremely weak teams you're in. (Lumberton, PNG, Central & Ozen)  A.K.A. Cake walk.

Last year?  That's all you got?  That won't affect this year.  By the way, our 4th place team took out SC last year.  On top of that, our 3rd place team almost took out the champs of 20-4A.  I wouldn't expect you to know that cuz y'all were playing basketball by then.  Lol.  At least I'll admit when out district is down.  I'm predict 17-4A to go 3-1 this week, but well be that one, and we'll be ready IF y'all can get by BH.

Not sure if they would have beat us, but we only win by 3 instead of 10, or  maybe we see overtime.  We had fumbles also.  The thing is, we recovered all of ours and most of theirs.

[/quote]Well, there was a bad center snap on a punt attempt that Brenham scored a TD on. Then the Cubs kicked a field goal two minutes later after the Huntsville QB fumbled.  And finally, after the Hornets fought back and took a 21-17 lead midway through the third quarter, Brenham recovers a fumble in the Huntsville end zone to give the Cubs the lead for good.  Just typical Huntsville errors (that Brenham doesn't do) that I had already predicted would happen before the game anyway.  Just sayin.

[/quote]I would not go as far as to say that Brenham does not do those things (turnovers and penalties).  The turnovers killed us against Foster, and stalled a number of drives during the season.  The thing that really concerned me were all of the mental penalties against Huntsville in week 9.  Those are not the kind of things that you wanna see out of a team that late in the season.

I said after the very 1st game this year that Willis would not seriously compete for a playoff spot.  That was before Crosby dropped 63 on them.  They finished 2-8, so I'm not sure how you define "competing for a playoff spot until late in the season".  They did start District 1-0 cause they opened with Caney Creek.  Whoopie-Doo

I'm not saying that 18-4A's playoff teams are better than 19-4A's playoff teams, but the 18-4A non playoff teams are absolutely better.

Yes they probably would, New Caneys best player only played first three games before a ACL tear. Best Line backer and back up running back left after a concussion finished his season. When you are as weak as they are, losing the two best players makes you go from bad to really bad.

[/quote]Like you said, they beat them last year. Magnolia West was pretty decent last year, they just happened to get smoked by Dayton, but hey that happens to the worst of us. About 7 weeks into the season I was reading Willis had a chance, I knew they wouldn't make it either but it was what it was. We tried to scrimmage Mag. West but our players kept running up and down the field so I guess they just abandoned the game situation part. You stay at home with four district losses here and they would surely lose to all four 19-4a playoff teams and play KP for 5th. I'm just saying I would take my 19-4a boys in that one because at least they were competitive, Mag. West was just big and slow.

[/quote]Willis mathmatically had a playoff chance with 3 games left.  Of course, Humble did too with only two games left.  It wasn't ever going to happen.

We didn't put 63 points and 605 total yards of offense on Humble with the backups in most of the second half either though.

That night it was pretty even.  Def not our best game.  Plus our starting QB didn't play the 4th quarter.
