ragarm55 Posted November 15, 2012 Report Posted November 15, 2012 At his age, 86 - 88 is fine. And, if he's got movement, and a second pitch...He'll do fine.

I understand it's close to home and stuff, but with his build and velocity I would think he would have had more offers.
I actually helped recruit Jacob for the Houston Heat...It is my understanding that this is where he really wanted to go and the "deal" was done early.I think it's a good choice for him and look for him to be very successful.Best of luck, Jacob. The Cardinals are getting a quality pitcher and a fine young man.
shovel Posted November 15, 2012 Report Posted November 15, 2012 I'm delighted to see LU grab these local players.

I will definitely tell my neighbor....
The myth of an athletic baseball scholarship. This is a pretty informative thread from a few years ago. Definitely recommended reading for anyone with kids that are getting recruited.http://www.setxsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=63290.0
Guest UHCoog14 Posted November 16, 2012 Report Posted November 16, 2012 Think about that kid signing with Rice, Baylor or any other private university. Even at 70% a parent will pay around $15k per semester. Like someone said earlier. Take care of your grades. Academic scholarships are more valuable and can offset any athletic scholarship limitations.
