The numbers argument is so 1989........  You can only play 11 at a time......

yea but if you have a thousand more to pick the eleven from, odds are with you.

True.  SC is 2019.5 while Vidor is 1380 and some change so that's 1009ish boys vs. 690ish.  With all the nerdy-girly boys being produced, I reckon SC suits up 50 while Vidor suits up 40ish.  But Vidor playing the QB both was is a shortcoming despite his skills on both sides of the ball.  I saw him often limping and tired against Ozen.  He may get worn out defending SC...  But I stand with playing 11 at a time.

I see your point but if that is true then why have classifications in the first place? I agree that it may not be a big deal-breaker in this match up, but what about a 1A vs. a 5A? 11 on 11 right?

I guess on this level, the numbers argument is moot.  Vidor beat Central, which has 250 more boys than they.  They beat a 5A school which I think was double Vidor size.  If numbers were so critical on this level, then the Aliefs and the Plano's of the world would have multiple championships.  Well Plano High has several but since they broke them up into East and West, they haven't sniffed the Regionals in football.....

I do agree that coaching at this level is the biggest factor. But the fact is that all coaching staffs are not created equal. Hence, the reason every state in the country has classifications based on enrollment. No excuses for Vidor, Dayton or anyone else. Just facts. SC has a very good football team period.

Agreed pretty impressed with them, knew Vidor was going to have to play their best game of the year to beat SC. Right now they are just not doing it.
