ace2335 Posted November 17, 2012 Report Posted November 17, 2012 All season I've been saying Montana the Vidor RB. With the pirate fans repeatly saying he's the QB.
Tim Riggins Posted November 17, 2012 Report Posted November 17, 2012 The QB in Vidor's offensive system has to be a running back also, just the nature of the beast. If not he would just hand off and throw the occasional pass.
Pirates98 Posted November 17, 2012 Report Posted November 17, 2012 Your comment makes no sense ace! Guess you call everyone else on the field lineman cause theytheir are blocking for the ball carrier? Montana is an excellent athlete and i agree he will not play QB at the next level but how many HS QBs do?
Michele Posted November 17, 2012 Report Posted November 17, 2012 Got to give it to Montana, IMPRESSIVE performance this year, good luck to you kid!
ispeakjive Posted November 17, 2012 Report Posted November 17, 2012 He should be MVP of 20-4A hands down. And this is coming from a Nederland fan. Very impressive and tough player to be able to do what he has done on both sides of the ball this year. I hope he gets a chance to play at the next level. Just a great, hard-nosed football player.
QueenPirate Posted November 17, 2012 Report Posted November 17, 2012 And to think he's got a brother coming up a few years behind him ;D
JMcShan Posted November 17, 2012 Report Posted November 17, 2012 How can you say Montana is a RB? He takes the snaps from the center, what position does that, it doesn't matter if his rushing yards is about 5 times his passing yards, he is classified as the Vidor Pirates Quarterback.
Sleepy1 Posted November 17, 2012 Report Posted November 17, 2012 It will not let me vote for both.Kid is a STUD!
liltex Posted November 17, 2012 Report Posted November 17, 2012 My hats off to Montana kids a winner giving 110% both ways and thats total committment to a team giving all you have every game. The pleasure is mine for getting to see him, good luck w/your fb future ;)
badndn Posted November 17, 2012 Report Posted November 17, 2012 So ace2335 what's your point? The kid is an excellent FOOTBALL player and a leader. You think the Vidor folks don't recognize that he is not a drop back pocket QB. Its not what he is asked to do. He is asked to be a decision making RB and does it well.
pirate58 Posted November 17, 2012 Report Posted November 17, 2012 Was a pleasure to watch, we will miss him. Good luck to him in the future.
1989NDN Posted November 17, 2012 Report Posted November 17, 2012 He is every bit as good as a LB as he is a QB...he is the 20-4A MVP...tough runner, good decision maker, and he took care of the football for the Vidor Wing-T. More impressive is his play on defense...he had a nose for finding the football and sticking his helmet in the middle of the collision. Take pictures of him Vidor. It will be long time before another one like him comes through the program. He carried Vidor to amazing seasons in 2011 and 2012. A very good kid/athlete.Go Indians. Peace.

Aces_Full Posted November 17, 2012 Report Posted November 17, 2012 Great job Montana. He's had a remarkable HS career. I just hope he gets the opportunity to play at the next level. Awesome person too.
VPATH Posted November 17, 2012 Report Posted November 17, 2012 And the best thing about Montana is if you take football away and he had never stepped on a football field, he is a great young man. He is an even better person than he is a football player. You will be missed MQ!
Guest Reservations46 Posted November 17, 2012 Report Posted November 17, 2012 Doesn't MQ have a brother or two in the Pirate pipeline? Always good to see a player of that caliber with his head on straight.
VPATH Posted November 17, 2012 Report Posted November 17, 2012 Yes Montana has a brother coming up and a cousin and both are pretty good. Curelover, I'm betting that Sage takes over at QB. Just my gut feeling right now.
