Honest Abe Posted November 17, 2012 Report Posted November 17, 2012 Yes. They are a contender, but there are plenty of good team's in the region who will give them heck:TerryKW ParkDawsonHumbleNEDERLANDOzenFB MarshallWheatleyBrazosportAny of these team's could reach the state tourney, IMO.
BMTSoulja1 Posted November 17, 2012 Report Posted November 17, 2012 I'm still skeptical of our coaching until I see a few more games. So, I reserve my judgment.
mytwocents-28 Posted November 17, 2012 Report Posted November 17, 2012 Central wont make it past Ned. 8)

That Nederland team is forreal, and we get some pieces from football they will be even better.

Also, in regard to coaching: If players are not executing, wouldnt it be a prerogative of the coach to replace them with someone who could execute, particularly in light of the fact that so much has been discussed about Centrals depth?

If 15 kids were suited up, then that means the entire team could have possibly been benched.. BTW, the task of finding a consistent starting is still going on and probably will be until district.

BLUEDOVE3 Posted November 18, 2012 Report Posted November 18, 2012 Nope, wasn't coaches fault players got out hustled on rebounds, missed layups, Silsbee guard (s) blowing by Central defenders, etc.
proudmom#32 Posted November 18, 2012 Report Posted November 18, 2012 Yes they did Dove. I would also like to reconize #5 Donte Wilson. He is the biggest lil man around right now!!! This kid has what it takes to get the job DONE!!!! His speed, ball handeling skills and ability to penetrate is awesome!!!!Not to mention his scoring as well!!! The message I would like to send out about Donte....Don't let his size fool you!!!! TIGERNATION....LETS EAT!!!!

The talent is there, but there is some defensive issues that needs to be addressed I assume.

Either the players arent as good as you originally said they were or they arent being taught how to deal with what you just described.
proudmom#32 Posted November 18, 2012 Report Posted November 18, 2012 I know that there is talent on Central team because I have seen many of them in the AAU circuit. I believe that the coaching is part of their issues, but they also have some work to do on offense/defense. I also think them beating Yates kinda pumped them and their fans up just a little too much. They better work hard this week, like you said they will not be playing a JV team!!!
BMTSoulja1 Posted November 18, 2012 Report Posted November 18, 2012 Just like I've plenty of times before, I don't know hat 'fans' you are in reference to being 'pumped up', but I can assure you that it's not me for reasons I have states previously. If we have a 'statebound' team, then show me, because at the begin of the season, I wasn't sold and I'm definitely not sold now. I say (and I mean speaking from THIS Central fan) get better every game and let's see where it takes us. (I still don't see the other Central fans you guys keep referring to.)
proudmom#32 Posted November 18, 2012 Report Posted November 18, 2012 I am not speaking of you Soulja,I am speaking in the community. This site is not the only place these conversations are being held!!!
bullets13 Posted November 18, 2012 Report Posted November 18, 2012 i guess so, but there's a strong possibility that they are only the 3rd best team in their district.

BMTSoulja1 Posted November 18, 2012 Report Posted November 18, 2012 The Central fans I see (barber shops, grocery stores ect.) Never had high expectations like that. ...And if there were some that was hollering about state, then they must have lost their mind. I think they should have just sit back and watch how the season pans out.
