I know the 20-4a fans hope it's Crosby. If the 3rd place team from 17-4a beats Ned and Crosby beats the second place team from 17-4a its going to look even worse for 20-4a. Manor just beat Connally the last game of the season for 2nd. Ned definitely has the easiest draw. Just putting the SETX on notice though: If Crosby knocks off Manor you can pencil us in for the regional championship against Texas City/FB Marshall winner. There's a report that one of our 3 year starters at LB broke his foot at the end of the game though, if this is true we just lost a big playmaker on defense which we really couldn't afford against a team that can move it like Manor. I still love our chances though.

Nederland would still beat Crosby... and their TWINS... Actually I think the twins brother is better than the twins... Lucky you all went Div. II or Vidor would have shown you how real 20-4A football is played again this year...
Only 19-4a will be standing after this week! ;)

Crosby just went to OT with Ozen! A team that got dominated in every fashion by Nederland.
Posted
yep, I don't know how Crosby's defense did against Ozen but it's kind of hard to beat zero yards rushing and 3 of 7 for 17 yards passing. But hey it was a bad day for the Dog's defense. If they had worked a little harder they might have stopped the three passes.

You gotta be able to score more than 21 on this year's Dayton team.
No, you don't. You just have to outscore them. The team with the most points wins.

I'll grant you this,  Neumann and Barrow drive me IN-SANE. They only do enough to get by offensively week after week, I have only seen them throw down once this year. Every other game the minute they got a lead they started grinding. They did it against every team we played in district, drives me NUTS. The Nederland Bulldogs have at least 5 potent receivers that are extremely dangerous when they get their hands on the ball and very seldom if ever drop. They have yet to really open it up this season. I would love to see them really open up the playbook and beat the crap out of someone. I think if they could just call a game with the gloves off they could beat any team in Texas 4A this season.

None of the four are losing and SC is going to beat the brakes off everyone for a while. I want to see them beat P Dawson. Shock them people over there. It's going to be an awesome weekend!!

Some really good points have been made about Nederland.  SC MUST GET BY GTOWN ...it really looks like things could actually get EASIER over the next two games depending how this weekend goes.

That brings me to another point, I'm sorta perplexed by how the opening match ups were drawn.  Shouldn't the best teams (undefeated/district champ) get the easier opponents?  SC sure looks like we got a 1, 2 punch out the gate.  I think Nederland, BH, and Crosby should write SC a thank you letter for taking the tougher opponents in 4A D1 thus far.
That's the way the D1 / D2 brackets turned out this year. Enrollment dictated that scenario.
Sc and Dayton went D1, are you saying they determine to matchups according to enrollment? I do know D1 is for the bigger schools, but I didn't know they it was a path they take due to enrollment

Big school D1 and Small school D2. IMO the #1 from a district should play the #1 from the other district and #2 with #2 and so on. Seems more fair. But I guess in cases with a school like Manvel where the difference in attendance was more noticeable, then I can see where its fair to go big school and small school....not that it made any difference...they blew thru everyone anyway in 4A.
Posted
Once the top 4 make the playoffs, they then split them up according to enrollment, which I think is ridicluous...if the enrollments are fair enough during the season, it should be good during the playoffs...I personally prefer one state champ in each class as well and I would much prefer 3 teams in the playoffs rather than 4...top seed could get a bye and let the 2 and 3 seeds from each district play each other.

that's my opinion..I am quite certain that the uil could care less...lol

I'm saying once the top 4 make the playoffs, the larger  two go D-1 regardless of record. The smaller  two go D-2. Then you have your traditional 1 plays 2 in each bi-district matchup. It just worked out this year that the top 2 teams in each district were also the teams with larger enrollments.

After watching some more end of the season footage I think Crosby will be the only one to go home after this week. I think Nederland will win a close one and Bh and SC will both win easily, while Crosby will have thier hands full! JMO

Jesus Christ... Stop talking. Nederland would demolish the Cougars, they've gotten much better, and regardless they have the best d line in the State, and that's Crosby's fundamental weakness.

SC would beat us, Nederland would beat us. No question, the deal is we don't have to worry about that because we are d2.

Bh would still lose, i really don't care what they say about "being better" the cougars have their number and the twins know they can run wild on that defense.

As for the Question i Think Elgin knocks out BH and no one else loses.
