I have been telling you guys for the longest, Lamar is the titanic, SBC is the ocean. My wishes is for something better. Many scenarios are possible:
1. UTEP, UNT, UTSA, Tulsa, and Rice says enough, then joins the MWC. NMSU, Texas st, Lamar, Ark st, and ULL joins CUSA.

2. Texas st is not happy with changes. They might take an interest in the MWC and take Lamar with them.

3.Tulsa and UTSA go BE. CUSA take Texas st. UTEP goes MWC. CUSA take Ark st and Lamar.

However the most likely scenario is App st, GSU, NMSU, and Lamar to SBC.

I do think one thing that could be playing in our favor is that we already have a media contract locally.  Also we are close enough to houston that the SBC can claim they got a Houston market team.  Whether that is BS or not I think the SBC would claim us as a Houston team.

usedtobe... I dont know where to start... We are in yr 3 of our football program.. where were the Texans in yr 3?? Get a brain 95% of start ups takes about 5 to 10 to yrs to start winning on a normal basis.... I think being new it will be an easier transition into the FBS  we have less baggage and since we are a new program our attendance is higher than if we were to stay put in the SLC for years and years..... It will get us more exposure, higher paying money games, and if RAY cant get any improvement by 2014 we can get a better coach than if we were to stay in the FCS and SLC.... Plus we would be to play better opponents at home... more folks would rather see ULL or Arkie st than seeing Central Oklahoma...

I know several people within Lamar and there was a big confrence call today at 1 with Lamar, SBC committee, from what i heard is it went pretty good but no word or anything... even Texas St is making a push for us to get into the confrence. And SBC is also claiming we are a Houston Area market. The another big key to it all is if our area can get CSN Houston in this area we will be able to get a game or two on the network we are actually considered the primary market being so close to the Houston Market but they do not show in the BMT area. A few cards need to fall but from I am hearing from several people is SBC is very interested in inviting Lamar back to the conference because of the history we have with some teams and old rivalries to renew on a yearly basis.
