Chapel Hill wouldn't make the playoffs out of our district this year.  That is a fact!  You have no idea what speed Silsbee has and I guarantee WOS and Silsbee can and will out match Carthage with team speed!

Guys, I am from Carthage and I will fill you in on a few things.  They gave Jacksonville the game, very first game of the year.  6 turnovers and 13 penalties.  The Dawgs intercepted the ball with about 2 minutes in the game, and all they would have to do was fall down and run the clock out.  But the young man who intercepted ran about 50 yards and was stripped before he went down.  Jacksonville went down and won with just a few seconds left.  Whitehouse, went division 2 in 4a and was beat in a barn burner last week.  Carthage muffed a kick that went into the endzone.  the kid kneeled in down in the endzone, which should have brought it out to the 25.  However, the ref put in on the 1 and just before Carthage snapped the ball, the Ref blew the whistle, talked to the other officials and then awarded Whitehouse a safety.  Carthage was then only ahead 27-22.  The kicked to Whitehouse and they scored with a few seconds left in the game.  Every game that has been close, Carthage has had problems with turnovers and penalties.  If this team shows up on Friday with a no mistake performance, Carthage will be very very tough to beat.  Mostly Juniors on this team.  Most of the front 7 on offense, the QB, and RB are juniors too.  Don't remember about wideouts.  Defense is tuff.  Hard to run up the middle on them and they cover ground really fast.  From the post ya'll put, I understand ya'll have speed.  Carthage has speed and has seen great speed this year.  All the fans better hold on for this one......it will be good.  Of course I pick the Dawgs even it is just by 1.

Best defense in the state?  Who might that be?  Carthage played Whitehouse who was beat for the #4 team in 4A and is still in the playoffs.  We held them to the least they had been held to up to that point.  John Tyler allowed more points that we did.  Carthage could have made it in 4A also.  I believe Carthage has one of the best, if not the best coaching staff I've seen, and I've seen a lot of them.  The amazing thing is, most of the teams who have talked that kinda trash end up finding out that Carthage is better than they predicted.  Anyway, teams down there think Carthage is just going to roll over and play dead.  The Dawgs played 4 - 4A teams, and two 3a teams that were pretty good at the time, before district. They beat a very fast Palestine team in the first round.  I've heard about Silsbee and I'm not going to try to dog the kids there.  But if you think it's going to be easy, you're fooled.  .

Carthage starts 10 juniors on offense.  All 3 of the WRs are juniors; one of them has more than 1,000 yards in receptions.

One of the DTs is committed to A&M.  He will play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio in January.  He is currently ranked 11th in the country at his position by Rivals.

I don't think anyone said Carthage or Silsbee was going to lay down. I think people from East Texas think they own Texas High School Football. Carthage is big, fast, and very very talented. No one is taking that away. Silsbee has just as much speed on offense as it does defense. It is great time to be playing there best ball all season. I think this game could be a barn burner. I have faith in Coach McGallion and his staff that they will have Silsbee more than prepared. Go get BOYZ! (Fpr the old school Tiger fans) TTTTT IIIIIi GGGG ERS ERS!
