I didn't stay, but from the information that got, West Brook had a nice lead and bad substitutions lead to an Ozen come back.

Are you saying WB coaching cost them a victory? Shocking! ::)
Or, the WB group in at the time did not execute ;)

West Brook is a good solid team, some can say subs cost them the game but that wasn't the issue. U can't have your 6'6 guy tryna be a guard ans also missing free throws down the stretch. OZEN was probably a lil tired from the Yates game but take nothing away from West Brook they played well.. Too bad we might have to see em in the 2nd round the ymbl again...
No, I said nothing of the sort.  If you go back and read, I said I left early, so that means I DIDN'T see the game.  So tell me, is that perhaps how YOU feel about it?

Haha... Yea that living on edge is not the thing to keep doing...but u gotta learn how to win the close ones too...i think the kids will eventually learn how to put a team away sooner than later though...

The Westbrook vs. Ozen game was intersting because Westbrook Coach subed an entire 5 as usual and lost momentum. They had an opportunity to put away Ozen who struggled offensively! Ozen's Jordan Hunter had a horrible shooting game but did hit some key free throws that helped his team, along with Jacobi Jones's key drives, steals and buckets! I think WB will have a solid team and the Green & Zeno combination can carry them this season! Overall, I think Ozen will have the advantage over most teams with their guard play and the pressure they can bring when needed! They have at least 6 talented guards and Damascus Sams was injured and is a pretty good player! It should be an interesting season this year for SETX Teams!

Agreed, the 6'6 player must be inside more. It is good he can dribble and shoot, but his team needs his help inside.
No, let him continue to dribble/ play point/
.  Because of the fear of not being able to play big man in college he has been trying to work on his dribbling skills
I agree with you 100%. But, someone needs to catch these kids before they enter high school and start this process earlier. Hard to overcome when you only have about 20 months ( if you are a junior) left in high school. As I bet you are aware, the guard position is tough, even for the ones who have been playing it since elementary. Takes more than learning to dribble, shoot &  passing to be effective at that position.

Exactly, these kids who play post all they life want to be guards when they are becoming seniors. We are starting our young players out here in middle school that are 6'3 an taller to do the same ball handling drills as the bigs.
