Angleton 31 GT 21
What about their pass defense?
I think they have close to 25 Ints on the year. If you include forced fumbles they have forced about 40 turnovers this year in 12 games.
It should be a good game, also hope Ned wins Friday as well, I will not make either game but will be there next week pulling for those bulldogs. ;D
Cat's D is VERY QUICK and powerful, and will work together and do thier best to get at the GT QB and cause him to make mistakes (which WILL lead to turnovers / int's) if he chooses to try to pass it. If GT trys to run the ball, I think they will also have trouble moving it foreward. All I can say is speeeeeeed kills! And we have a LOT on both sides along with a good mix of size and power.
I would like to know if there is any video on the Ned@Angleton game?
I seriously doubt it, as it was storming / raining like a cow peeing on a flat rock for about the last 35-40 min of that game. So bad that halftime show had to be cancelled. :o
CoogsEagles
My prediction is Georgetown over Angleton and Dawson over Nederland.Key Games:Angleton 39, Nederland 31Nederland 17, Connelly 10Georgetown 34, Connelly 0If Nederland can score 31 against Angleton but only scores 17 against Connelly, most likely Gtown will have no problem scoring against either of those teams while keeping their scoring to a minimum. The Georgetown defense allowed less points per game than Angleton-Dawson-Nederland, while the offense has scored more than the three. The key is Georgetown keeping penalties to a minimum, a lot of the points allowed have been due to penalty yardage.
bulldog1984
why does everyone base their predictions on how many points are scored? Nederland does what it needs to to win games . If they need 7 or 17 or 45 points to win thats what they do. ITs all about matchups in every game we play. that being said Nederland 34 Dawson 28 . Just enough to win
ATWILDCAT
Comparing common opponents doesn't really work for me. It's all about matchups. It's like saying since we beat Foster 57-21 and Dawson only beat them 28-14 in bidistrict, we should beat Dawson by about 3 TD's if we played them. It doesn't work that way. It's the matchups and playing mistake free football.
CoogsEagles
I agree in part, what I am looking at is not just points scored but points allowed. I graduated from Tomball, but I went to the Gtown Summer Creek game last week. Gtown was outmatched. Summer Creek was bigger, faster, and more athletic. Somehow the Gerorgetown defense had 3 guys in the QB's face every play. I think it is more coaching than talent in this case...Any given Friday

Eazy
I don't see Angleton putting up 48 here. Georgetown wins 35-
Bulldogs2011
Bastrop put 28 points up running the same type of offense and they don't have two 1,450 yard backs in the backfield. Angleton will get in the 40s at the very least!

You have the game in hand why play your starters in a game that means nothing. No reason to risk injury when the games out of hand.

ace2335
I'd much rather see gt vs Nederland. Just so the Nederland and Big Ned can run over this GPD in the process.
