Actually went to Lil Central in 9th grade and part of my soph yr before transfering to the Mighty Brook and playing on some of those good teams we hsd......lol...

Cmon BD3 wasnt my fault. ..didnt have open enrollment then...lol..my mom got smart and moved into West Brook zone...haha...no transfer infringement here...hahaha.....and Freeze we were the best to come thru there undefeated both teams gray and maroon....

Dont get it twisted, we still couldnt shoot no 3s and he had taken us out when we score 100 at the end of the 3rd, but the coach called him a racial slur so he put us back in and told us if we didnt catch up we was go run with them heaters on...lol. and we had Guilbeaux to so you know what time that was.

BD3 you know exactly what is wrong with Ned. You have hinted in the past, but always elected not to say. Since noone else wants to step up I guess I will. The present makeup is a good team of bb specialists, but they lack the ability to play good teams physical. That coupled with the fact they are all average ball handlers they just don't match up with good, aggressive physical teams. These boy's are BB specialist for a reason --- they didn't like the physical contact on a football field. I know because I coached all of them  in football in the past. If we were still playing BB as it were back 25 -30 yrs ago ---this would be a great team.

Last night vs WB they looked good when they were willing to crash the boards and muscle up shots. However, you are just not going to get this group to do that all night. I expect similar/same results in the YMBL

If and when the FB players come out, it should help the team some on the boards -- that is if Coach E is willing to use them. There is also rumor they may get a lightning kick guard back out, who in my opinion would help this team tremendously, but again will Coach E allow him to play and more important use him. These are questions we will find out in the future. In the mean time go dogs.

Uh oh @85'husker.. youve gone and done it now.. ::)....youve exposed a startling truth about Nederland as a team...their lack of physical play will haunt them. They are a finesse team....a zones nightmare. .but if u play them aggressively they dont respond well to pressure...especially when teams go man to man on them...those football players that everyone speaks of..will they be able to score in the low post or are they just there for body purpose only...I enjoy watching Nederland and the way they play but something has got to give or the season will a long one..

I don't think Ned has a 'problem' just yet. consider this:

I mentioned a few days ago that Ned was suppose to beat WB the past 2 seasons, but we didn't. Ned was up and coming while WB was on the decline. They beat us both years by 9-12 points, I think.

This year WB seems to have a much better team, and we have a very similar team to last year. We had another bad shooting night, yet took WB to OT. We missed an open layup with 1 min to go which would have put us up by 4. I know that's part of the game, but missing these type of shots is not normal for these kids. They will learn from these mistakes bc English won't allow it to happen all season. He likes his kids to 'figure it out' themselves early in the year, which apparently has worked for his teams.

I wouldn't call it a problem at this point, but if others want to panic, that is your prerogative. I also mentioned a few days ago that every team has to find it's identity, and that's why we have preseason and tournaments.

While I do agree with most of Husker's analysis, this was our same downfall as last year: 'Soft' players who don't bang, and no true ball handler. The FB kids will change that, and I hope Coach E utilizes them when we play teams who have more than one BIG. Shaw's speed is desperately needed, but I haven't seen him play Bball in a few years. If he can handle the ball with his speed, English will be forced to utilize him.
