4-a Humble and 5-a Longview met in the semi-finals with Longview advancing while HJ beat Tatum to get to the final.  My personal feelings were that the Hawks would likely lose to Longview by 15.  HJ played very well against the bigger, more athletic Longview team.

Dove HJ is 3A..Tatum is not a weak 2A.. that be like ozen playing a state ranked 3A school

Tatum is a ranked 2-a team and they beat #5 ranked Kountze in the semi final.  To address your question, Dove- when you win the tournament without a loss, you effectively beat everyone in the tourney.

We have a counterpart in our district to whom you offer respect for their strong schedule as often as you offer disdain for the HJ schedule.  Compare the results over the last six years and convince me that strength of schedule matters (strength, that is, in the eyes of Da Dove)  We should also be mindful of the HJ victory over Kingwood Park at their weak scheduled tourney last year.  Kingwood Park is a name that should be meaningful to the Panthers.

If you are speaking of Silsbee, then one could say it "may" have mattered in the head-to-head match up between the two teams.

Last 6 seasons Silsbee is 10-7 against HJ, last 4 seasons 7-3.

I honestly do not think the schedule has mattered much, just more wins for one and less for the other.

I was referring to the playoff performance in recent years because Dove is always reminding us that it is not how you start but how you finish.  Furthermore, my guess is that anytime there is a strong rivalry, who you played prior to the rival has little bearing on the outcome in the rivalry.
