BMTSoulja1 Posted December 12, 2012 Author Report Posted December 12, 2012 Let's hope Lamar will develop a running game. If not, Robert will be places the SAME situation he's been in for the last 2 years... He needs to go somewhere he can thrive and flourish. LU may not be the best answer.

BLUEDOVE3 Posted December 12, 2012 Report Posted December 12, 2012 Whoa!!! I thought you guys moaned and complained about LU not recruiting local kids. And as far as waiting, sometimes thats a gamble you are taking. Who should he be waiting for?

I think we all in this area would like to see Lamar improve and be competitive in whatever conference that they are in. One element in that improvement is to get "Better" players; so I welcome Lamar's try for Mitchell. Of course, another key element is coaching. Forum rules and common decency limit my comments on that subject. 8)

Not letters but real offers.
cooligan Posted December 12, 2012 Report Posted December 12, 2012 I hope the best for Robert. He may get a D1a school to offer this late, but not likely. Most probably already have their QB's lined up and unless he has been talking to coaches consistently the bigger offer probably won't come. Not impossible - just not likely this late. Now if he was still playing, like the Georgetown QB, hat could change some minds.
AggiesAreWe Posted December 12, 2012 Report Posted December 12, 2012 Is it certain that Lamar is recruiting him as a quarterback?

Fball911 Posted December 12, 2012 Report Posted December 12, 2012 I actually think the kid can play QB at Lamar,
BLUEDOVE3 Posted December 12, 2012 Report Posted December 12, 2012 Again, I would think it depends on the offers that are coming in for the student-athlete at this time. If you are a top recruit, then maybe you have the opportunity to pick and choose your school based on academics, then evaluate if your athletic ability will allow you to play at a school of your choice & position. On the reverse side, your options may be limited and those one or two offers on the table won't there too long.
cooligan Posted December 12, 2012 Report Posted December 12, 2012 Great point AAW. Lamar may be looking at him as a kicker for all we know. ;D

If I'm being offered a scholly (fulll ride) and I don't have a lot of offers, I'll be the waterboy. ;)
cooligan Posted December 12, 2012 Report Posted December 12, 2012 You are so right BD3. The most difficult thing for the athlete and their parents is to realize and determine what level they are truly at. I'm not necessarily speaking about Mitchell - just in general.

lu cards Posted December 12, 2012 Report Posted December 12, 2012 good offer by lamar.after the png game this year we were hoping he'd go to lu.really like this kids abilities.
Razor Posted December 12, 2012 Report Posted December 12, 2012 the kid is a phenomenal talent...outside of the Gtown QB, he was the best Nederland faced all year...he has size, he is mobile, and he has a good arm...Lamar would do well to have him and several other local kids IMO...however, for LU, all the skill people in the world will not matter if they cannot build the team to be strong up front...need some big old hogs up on the Oline so that the skill guys can do their thing
