I think the earlier the better, as long as they are mature enough to pay attention and give the needed effort. That way it will cut down on developing bad habits. If you are going to learn, you may as well learn the RIGHT way to hit & throw etc.

That goes for Dad too about the learning ! Problem is, you might have trouble getting in at an early age. These guys don't want to waste time with a kid thats not ready and you can't blame them.

Most kids don't start pitching until they are 9 or 10. Until then all you should work on is teaching how to field, throw, and were to go with the ball. So I would say lessons should start at about 8 or 9.
