vhs Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 Just curious as to when some of you feel is the best time to get a kid into private Pitching / Hitting lessons.
sbc25 Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 whenever you can see that whatever they are doing is something they want to continue.....not just a summer thing or anything like that
Lucky Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 I think the earlier the better, as long as they are mature enough to pay attention and give the needed effort. That way it will cut down on developing bad habits. If you are going to learn, you may as well learn the RIGHT way to hit & throw etc. That goes for Dad too about the learning ! Problem is, you might have trouble getting in at an early age. These guys don't want to waste time with a kid thats not ready and you can't blame them.
ponybaseball Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 Most kids don't start pitching until they are 9 or 10. Until then all you should work on is teaching how to field, throw, and were to go with the ball. So I would say lessons should start at about 8 or 9.
