Interesting....

Brenham is not only outside the top 10, but is picked 3rd in district 18-4A.  The district is always a guantlet, but we've won district year in and year out for the past couple years, so I'm kind of surprised by this.  I'm sure it's because we lost so much pitching, but we also return a Rice commit in CF and other experienced players.  No Coach Long this year, but I have faith in coach Williams.  Time to play the unusual underdog role and enjoy some Brenham Cub baseball.  Hurry up baseball season!

Anyone know anything about Summer Creek?

I don't know much, other than they took us 3 games last year in the bi-district round.  I didn't get to catch the series, cuz I was out of state,  so I don't have any details.

Like you said Brenhamfan its based on what is coming back. Montgomery and Magnolia both know that Brenham is the still the one to beat. I really think its better to be the underdog, easier to motivate the team. Montgomery know its has to jump that hurdle to win district, but at least they have done it before unlike the football team and the way they raised their game in their playoff run last year gives them some confidence.

I agree that Montgomery should have some momentum after that deep playoff run.  That should help them a lot, a long with a tough schedule. (The Woodlands, Kempner etc.) Brenham has Moody, Houston Lamar & several other tough games before district, which will help us.  We just need to find some pitching.
