Did anyone see this coming for Lamar men's basketball this season?

Folks were commenting on how that tough non conference schedule would get them ready for conference play. Not sure that was a good idea now.

Not really. He did win with a team Roc recruited but couldn't win with. ;)

Lamar folks are so fickle.  Give him a year or two with his own guys before you run him out of town.  Who you gonna replace him with? Any upgrades begging to come to Lamar? Sheesh.

This is what I am hanging my hat on. He prooved he could coach a talented group to play as a unit and win unlike his predessesor. So the question now is can he bring in the talent to be coached up to win or is he just not good enough in the recruiting game to get the talent.

A terrible season was expected with 8 new guys on the roster and no real shooters from last year's team. Knight also has said it was a mistake publicly about the schedule. Just a reminder Lamar's worst team ever was Jack Martin's 1967 team (5-19, 0-8). Two years later they were (20-4, 6-2). Let's see if there's an improvement next year. Two years from now they could very well be back on top.
