Lazeek Posted February 9, 2013 Report Posted February 9, 2013
I like it at Ford Park they last game had 3,000 plus there ford area holds about 6,000 I don't like to be cramped up an the Kids enjoyed playing it there only reason for the move is because the district loses of money Think about how much money they could've made last year at HJ if there more seats an for HJ to always be good it still kills me how small there gym is smh and they Rivalry isn't the same because in the past years you didn't have other area teams appealing as OZEN an Central have become Nederland has been running 20-4a for a couple years.....
There was a little over 2,000 in the first game!!!! Not 3,000. ::) ::) ::)

Dick Vitale Posted February 9, 2013 Report Posted February 9, 2013 I just don't think that game is the same anymore....Its becoming one sided, and the atmosphere has become mediocre....I still think as an admin, I would just take that headache, and have the games on campus next season... ;)
BADSANTA Posted February 9, 2013 Report Posted February 9, 2013 I agree! From what I hear, the games at Ford park are less than half full and a lot local fans arent going. They should allow kids to have 4 tickets each for parents and sibbling. Rest sell at the door. Bring these games back home.

Bring these games back home.
NO!!!!!Even though Ford Arena looks half empty (it does hold 7000 for basketball), the crowds that have attended these two games are much larger than what could be fit in the two schools home gyms, particularly HJ which only holds 1050. That's over a 1000 less that what has attended the two games at Ford Arena this year.Game needs to stay at Ford Arena so that it can accommodate everyone with no problems.
BADSANTA Posted February 9, 2013 Report Posted February 9, 2013 IMO if you move the games back home and make the ticket situations fair to parents, it could work. Like I said give each player on each team 4 game tickets. Give the visiting school 40% and home team 60%. Make all ticket purchase s come from the admin offices. These 2 schools will never fill Ford Arena.

The point of playing there was to allow more to attend than what could attend at the home courts. No locking of doors, no fire marshal situations, no headaches for both schools administrations. It's a win win for everyone involved. The players and coaches enjoy playing the game at Ford Arena. Why go back to a headache when this facility can accommodate all?
SHSTIGER Posted February 10, 2013 Report Posted February 10, 2013 No worries. I bet after year 3 of the 10 year run the Tigers are going to have, there will be no need to have it there. Understand the logistics of it but the atmosphere of last nights game was dead. Play it at Ozen or Port Arthur on an off night.
BADSANTA Posted February 10, 2013 Report Posted February 10, 2013 Maybe they move it back to home & home after next season.
MoFo Posted February 11, 2013 Report Posted February 11, 2013 Personally I would prefer to be able to get a seat without someone sitting in my lap in a half full stadium (Ford Park) then to NOT get a seat at an on campus game, or getting a seat with someone perched in my lap eating and belching a hot link all over me....just my opinion...
24 over par Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 I was in hj gym last night and was shocked at how small it is, not money well spent
stevenash Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 Since that gym accommodates all crowds comfortably except for the Silsbee game, I wouls suggest that perhaps the money was well spent. What would be foolish is to spend additional taxpayer money for one game per season.
