AggiesAreWe Posted February 9, 2013 Author Report Posted February 9, 2013 Kinda like putting your teams accomplishments in one's signature so that they show up every time one makes a post. ;)

Silsbee would have to add over 300 students to double the enrollment of H-J. Very proud of Silsbee's multi sport athletes being able to compete with a bunch of year round basketball players.
BADSANTA Posted February 9, 2013 Report Posted February 9, 2013 Yes HJ does play ball year round. Silsbee has always had very good multisport athletes. I think HJ sould find a way to get some of those primetime basketball players on the football field.
SHSTIGER Posted February 9, 2013 Report Posted February 9, 2013 One key thing contributing to Silsbee's recent dominance in the rivalry, is that the H-J teams of the last 2-3 years have been somewhat soft at the guard position imo. Very good teams but lacked players that weren't afraid to mix it up a little, such as Bernard and Donahoe. Prudhomme wasn't afraid to but those other guys rattled our pgs pretty good causing turnovers.

Silsbee very rarely had 20+ point leads to withstand the late run.

That was their enrollment number for this current realignment.

BADSANTA Posted February 9, 2013 Report Posted February 9, 2013 Within the next 8 years Silsbee could be 2A.

BADSANTA Posted February 9, 2013 Report Posted February 9, 2013 When I was at Silsbee high, we had a total 1300 students while in 4A. Now being down to 822, we need some growth.
AggiesAreWe Posted February 9, 2013 Author Report Posted February 9, 2013 Silsbee will not be 2A. Not going to happen.Actually, Silsbee will be 4A next year. ;)
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted February 9, 2013 Report Posted February 9, 2013 I got a question: Before i left for Alaska in 2007 i thought Silsbee was building up and expanding, was that not the case?? After dropping for a few years it has leveled off for the last couple years. It's beginning to pick back up some.
