If you could choose one Freshman or Sophmore to start a team, who would you take and why?

I agree. I've seen them play. Very talented. I remember Shugart when he was 12 and was throwing BB's. Went and watched him play last year and he hasn't slowed down.

Ford Proctor at Kelly is a really good sophomore also but I would choose Shugart over him just because Shugart pitches.

I remember and still have Shugart's LLWS DVR'd... if it wasn't for pitch count he would have won it for his team!!!

Don't really know any Freshman, but I would take Shugart in a heart beat.

I haven't heard of many freshman but some of the Sophs that stand out..
Franklin - Kountze
Shuggart- BC
Howard - PA Memorial
Proctor - BMT Kelly
Padgett - HJ (injured)
Anderson - WO-S
Croft - Vidor
Marshall - Kountze

Only freshman I know of are Cleveland - Buna, and Young - Lumberton...

Just a few that came to my mind... Who did I miss?

Those two are both really solid ball players. Broussard is almost a 5 tool player, can do a little of everything. And Smith has power and very good pitching skills.

It's is funny how every single one of those kids have at some time or another played on the same select / summer / fall ball team. I think all of them played on Chris Fackler's Tournament team he took to Baton Rouge this past summer.

What about the kountze kid, or shugart, or smith? Cody is good, but the best? Not to sure yet?
