Kelly was ahead from start to finish in this one, holding a 26-20 lead at the half and extending that to 40-27 by the end of the 3rd.  Thomas only made 2 3's the entire game in contrast to the game in Houston where it seemed like every 3 they shot went in in the 2nd half.  Good team defense by Kelly and bad shoting by Thomas.  Leading scorers for Kelly were Cam Frank (12), Thomas Falgout (11) and Shad Wise (10).  Falgout was also huge on the defensive boards. 

Kelly finishes district 3-3 and tied with Thomas.  Both teams make the playoffs starting next Friday in College Station.  There were rumors after the game that the two teams would play again next Tuesday to break the tie for 2nd and 3rd place in district.  Hopefully they decided to flip a coin, but supposedly the Thomas coach wanted to play.

I have never been a big fan of the spread offense, but we run it every time we have a lead in the 4th quarter.

Kelly finished 2nd in district based on point differential with St. Thomas.  Kelly's first playoff game will be Friday night at 8:30 against Austin St. Michaels at College Station HS.  If Kelly wins they will play at 1:30 Saturday afternoon at College Station HS.
