Guest flyonwall12 Posted February 17, 2013 Report Posted February 17, 2013 First Off want to say congratulations to the Georgetown Lady Eagles. They are a great team and beat us in every aspect but heart. I expect to see them in Austin this year. Now for the ladies on the team this year, what a season it has been. Just four years ago Vidor did not win any games and now they made the second round for the first time ever. For the six seniors you will be remembered. Y'all never gave up and each season you kept getting better. You leave this team with things that Vidor has never done. Just this season y'all beat a Top Ten ranked 3A team in Hardin-Jefferson, took both Ozen and Barbers Hill to the wire, and for possibly the first time ever beat a Beaumont school. Every senior meant something not just the starters. It is your hard work and energy that has passed on to the younger classmen on the team. Just last night when the younger Jacks fouled out in the begginning of the fourth, it was a senior who came in and played the fourth not hurting the team at all. For the rest of the team, remember this moment and season. You are a family that will only get larger next year with the next group of Freshman that come in. Never forget the players before you, they are still apart of the family. They left you with a challenge. Yes you graduate three starters but the first three or four players off the bench were sophomores and freshmen. Now are you going to revert to being a middle of the pack team or are you going to continue to get better and challenge for a district title next year? Everyone graduates players and it is the younger ones who are expected to come up and make a name for themselves. So congratulations to you all. Just keep your heads up high do not worry about the loss remember all the hard work and the lessions learned. There is no other team with as much heart and intensity around. Every minute on that court was played like that was the last minute you would ever play and will help you outside of the gym.
BH85 Posted February 17, 2013 Report Posted February 17, 2013 Good note. Those young ladies worked hard in the offseason and improved a lot over the year. I hope they keep working hard as it's great when there are a bunch of good teams in the area. Good luck to those seniors graduating in whatever they do.
