HJ has had one transfer in the last six years and Yates had 40 this past fall.[/quote]Yes it is true that since players found out that Silsbee was going to be in the same district as HJ recruitment numbers have dropped. These players were well aware of how few and far between district and state titled would become. And since that last good recruiting class graduated in 2007 that has become the case. Many would be HJ recruits have since ended up at Yates.

So, they dropped down to 3-A for a couple of years to cement their record (in an "Off-recruiting year") but they expect to be back up to 4-A or 5-A when the 6th level comes in. Don't worry about Yates; they have a way of getting theirs. 8)

sasquare Posted February 24, 2013 Report Posted February 24, 2013 Many of you all have forgotten, that Silsbee has always been a top competitor. We battled Port Arthur Lincoln and Baycity every year when we were 4aaaa. we consistently ranked in the top ten and made it to Austin several times along with going to regionals so many times can't count. Port Arthur Lincoln had talent like Yates every year.

WE were so good that we scrimmaged high schools. I bet thats why Wheatley is still winning ::)

Yall were babies back then and weren't old enough to read the papers ;) Hmmm! Actually, in small towns too. Football back in 30's was full of "transfers" in those small towns.

Big girl Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 LMBO......It is obvious that Blue Dove does not know anything about basketball. I played in college and we were required to run cross country. I even saw a posting where he said that Johnson was the only person on HJ's team that could create his own shot. LOL. Has he ever watched Bosha play? He is the compete package. He can shoot, he can drive, he is a great perimeter defender and he can hit the 3. Either Blue Dove is blind or he has never attended a HJ game. Wow!!!!! ;)

Some kids can do things in high school that they can't get away with in other basketball venues. Most of these kids need to be in a gym working than spending time running track. As far a s Bosha, you can tell he has worked on his individual skill set and has gotten even better.I've seen HJ players since they were Little Dribblers. ;)

He definitely has the tools, but he needs to work hard this spring and summer....Trust me when I tell you...NOT the COMPLETE package.
