And for all you Yates fans ..Hay they ain't the best in the state of Texas in 3A.. lol There good butt not the best the best has already been declared the top team and has already beat Yates" this year on new years they are just playing a national schedule... :D And for theones who don't know the team its DALLAS  P. PREP"... ;D
Yates is the best 3A team that can compete for a championship..

Prime Prep is a Allstar high school team
Is Yates not also a HS All-Star team??
While it's quite obvious they get an unfair advantage of move-ins every year, the caliber of players on Prime Prep is unmatched by regular teams in Texas..

I'm not saying HJ is a recruiting school, Im saying its the same for Yates. If my son is a good basketball player and I move to Houston and I want my son in a good program we're going to Yates. Does that make them a recruiting school. And the kid that left HJ would of held HJ  back. I coached him this summer.
Doesnt matter if he would have held them back.  YOUR point was about kids coming to HJ from Beaumont REGARDLESS of whether or not they contributed to basketball and I gave you a reverse example.  And if you HONESTLY believe there is the slightest similarity between who comes to Yates to play and who comes to hJ to play, your elevator does not go all the way to the top.
All I'm saying is, you guys (HJ SUPER FANS) make this big problem about Yates recruiting, but if it was HJ none of you guys wouldnt say a thing about, it would still be GO HAWKS. And the kid that left HJ  went to a TAPPS school. Not like he ran to Ozen, Central or even WB.

Yates is a public school that plays national competition. This teams gets a lot of exposure from the national media. pLUS, the kids want to play against the best. To play the best, most kids would have to attend an  expensive east coast prep school. JY is the closest thing in this area to a prep school. That in itself is the drawing card for JY in its present form. The players adhere to the rules. They transfer, play a season of JV if they come from another district.

One could claim that.

I spoke with a person last night who is close to the Yates program and he was quite forward with an answer to a question I had for him. I asked how many of the current Yates varsity players came up through the Yates feeder middle schools. He said of the 15 on varsity, only 6.

I do not know how HISD works as far as middle schools and where those kids move on to high schools.
That confirms my accusation/suspicion that i made earlier that over 1/2 of their team is from other zones including towns/states/countries/continents.

At the end of the day ppl sound bitter when they claim schools recruit...it didn't help Yates last yr when they lost in the state game..so who cares...lace up your shoes go out and play...get better at the game and stop the complaining...that's why kids can't compete anymore because ppl cry about what the other team is doin so their already defeated before the game is played...quit puttin your kids at a disadvantage with the negative thoughts..you can only control what your players do...bottom line is when you win everything else is forgotten .
While that all sounds very noble, the theory holds that all teams competing with each other ought to be adhering to the same rules.
This is a lil off topic..but when McDonald's comes out with the Mcrib and Burger King doesn't have one should McDonalds not release the Mcrib because their worried how can hurt BK business..NO...well in basketball some programs are stronger than other periods...it's like that in life too....there will always be disadvantages but why teach kids to accept them and make excuses..why not try to overcome them...it's like picking and allstar team in pick up ball generally they lose while the team who plays like ones wins...not there are circumstances when teams are just better deal with it  and quit crying..
If they receive special treatment, then maybe they should be in the same division/conference as a team like The Village. Other schools who compete on the same level so not have those advantages and we want to be 'fair', right BD3?
