sbparent Posted February 22, 2013 Report Posted February 22, 2013 Any word yet on the outcome of the meeting. How about playing the game in Livingston. They have a pretty new gym but not sure how many it will hold. Does Cleveland have a decent gym?Just looked at google maps and its 77 miles from Yates to Livingston. 73 miles from Silsbee to Livingston. Problem solved!!

Lazeek Posted February 22, 2013 Report Posted February 22, 2013 As far as the venue goes. Atascocita holds 2000. By halftime I would say that it was at about 1800 or a little more.
BADSANTA Posted February 22, 2013 Report Posted February 22, 2013 Yates has a team full of recruits and a bully for a coach! Wise thinks he owns Houston. Yates isn't the best school in Houston. FB Bush, FB Travis, Seven Lakes, and North Shore are better without recruits every year!

The others are "IF a player lands there" driven. Watch how BAD FB Travis gets after this season... ;)

Their JH gym use to host a lot of games but they have built a new HS that has a nice gym.

So why would someone come into the country and pick Jack Yates.?
Perhaps you didn't know this so I will tell you...Yates has one of the TOP schools of communications programs in TEXAS..They work closely with the University of Houston's communication department, AND they serve as the training ground for most of the area media outlets...Shocking, isn't it? ::) ::)...That could be ONE reason... 8)
Team Game Posted February 22, 2013 Report Posted February 22, 2013 That's right, all the local and national affiliates are loaded with Communications Majors that got there start at Yates. I think one was just on the Weather Channel predicting a lightning strike in your vacinity Dick.
stevenash Posted February 22, 2013 Report Posted February 22, 2013 An amazingly odd number of guys 6'7" who want to be communications majors!!!!!!! I remember yesterday in one of these threads someone making the remark that he had spoken with someone "in the know" at Yates and 6 players from the team grew up in the school district.
PINETREE Posted February 22, 2013 Report Posted February 22, 2013 I usually don't get in on discussions about recruiting players, but everyone who knows anything about basketball can honestly say that Jack Yates recruits. This is nothing new. If the UIL can't prove any wrongdoing it will continue to go on,so either get proof or leave it alone. Talking about it doesn't do anything to stop it.
stevenash Posted February 22, 2013 Report Posted February 22, 2013 HJ girls beat the Yates girls the other night in the playoffs. I guess there arent that many females who come to Yates as communications majors.
PrettyBoi10 Posted February 22, 2013 Report Posted February 22, 2013 You can't stop an exchange student from choosing his school choice there's loop holes to everything Yates just knows them but I think UIL will take a closer look at Yates after this season "WATCH"
Team Game Posted February 22, 2013 Report Posted February 22, 2013 The communication on display during and after the game last night by the Yates guys was outstanding. The vocabulary, just incredible! The Reverend Yates would have been so proud.
freeze 1914 Posted February 22, 2013 Report Posted February 22, 2013 No matter where you are. If you build a program up,even if it is started out by recruiting, and your winning every year, you wont have to recruit anymore because kids are going to want to join a winning program. If a kid move in and wants to go where the best basketball is played most likely they will direct them to Yates, because they are known for winning and gaining exposure.
