Currently there is 3 teams from each district and there is 32 districts, so that is 96 teams in the playoffs. There will actually be less teams in the playoffs. I always thought it would be good to limit it to 2 teams from each district. But, maybe have some wild card spots. I thought it would be used to isolate the powerhouse 5a schools, but the uil is so unpredictable that it probably won't be quite like that.
