SETX Fastest 100m

If you have a GREAT hand held timer, you can add .25 to make it close to FAT. My kids ran that meet last night and the times were pretty inconsistent, which can be expected with hand held. Janice is a fast kid. I also believe it was a fast track. WOS girls went 1:45 in the 4x200m...I don't believe they have went under 1:48 before this meet and they were missing their 2nd fastest girl. I hope they can shave a second or so off that time. They have a chance to win state in the 4x200m with at time like that.

I know they were. Her last name is Teel. She ran a 26.4 earlier this year in the open 200m. The only girl that I am aware of that they have that can run faster is the Cole girl. I didn't clock them myself, but the results show that they ran a 1:45.

That's what I'm saying as well. You won't find those times making it onto any official rankings either. Add .24 for a handheld conversion....

One4All and Mat, try it for yourself. The next meet you go to with an electronic timing system... take a stopwatch, start it when you see fire/smoke from the gun, stand right at the finish line and hit stop when the athlete's torso hits the line. Later, check the results.... you'll be anywhere of .20-.30 off... if you're good.

With that said.... 10.67 for a 100m kid in high school is rolling!

It is is FAT timing it is legit, if it is not then it is open for debate.  Either way, 10.4 with a stopwatch is still extremely fast.

Turns out I was wrong. They ran a 1:45 without their fastest girl!!! They went 1:43 tonight at district. This 4x200m team has a shot at winning state.

I did not make area meet, but had folks tell me about him. Jay Bradford is his name. Won the 100m by over half a second (10.68 to 11.23)

In the area private school track meet this past weekend, a sixth grader  from St. Catherine out of Port Arthur ran a 11.57 and a sixth grader from St. Anne ran a 11.60.  These were hand timed by coaches, but not bad for 12 YO boys!

FAT is where it's at...if your a track coach and your talking about hand held times your probably getting laughed at behind your back.  Real track coaches rely on FAT!  Keep the stop watches for off season 40s and shuttles !!!
