For more than 20 years, local fans, broadcasters, media members and sports followers have used the SETXsports Forum as a source of information and conversation.
SETXsports started in 2005 because Southeast Texas needed a place of its own for high school sports. What began as an idea from a college student and lifelong sports fan has grown into more than two decades of broadcasts, conversation, information and community.
Founder Jordan Wilson, a Jasper High School graduate and lifelong sports fan, had seen websites connecting high school sports fans in other parts of Texas.
At the time, there really wasn't anything quite like that here. So while still in college, Jordan decided to build one for Southeast Texas.
There wasn't a big company behind it. There wasn't a roadmap. It was an idea, a passion for local sports and a lot of learning as we went.
When SETXsports launched, the shortened SETX way of referring to Southeast Texas wasn't something you saw everywhere like you do today.
SETXsports was using those four letters from the beginning, long before SETX became a common part of the way businesses, organizations and media around the region identify Southeast Texas.
For us, SETX has always meant: Southeast Texas. Our schools. Our towns. Our sports.
SETXsports was never meant to be a website where people simply came, read something and left.
The conversation mattered.
Over the years, the SETXsports Forum became one of Southeast Texas' longtime gathering places for local sports information.
Fans have shared scores, schedules, coaching news, playoff information, predictions, rankings and everything else happening around area sports.
It has also become a resource for local media members, broadcasters, coaches, school communities and anyone trying to keep up with what's happening around Southeast Texas athletics.
Long before social media became the center of everything, Southeast Texas sports fans were already talking on SETXsports.
Broadcasting became another major part of SETXsports.
Through the years, our crews have broadcast thousands of games across football, basketball, baseball, softball and other sports.
We've followed Southeast Texas teams through regular seasons, district championships, playoff runs and state championship games.
Over more than two decades, countless listeners have tuned in to SETXsports to follow their teams.
Through all those years, one thing has never changed.

We're locally and independently owned.
Most of the people who contribute to SETXsports and work our broadcasts are volunteers.
They're local people who love sports. Many have a connection to the school or community they cover. They give up Friday nights, travel to road games and spend hours preparing because they genuinely enjoy being part of local sports.
There's still something special about listening to your team. Hearing the play-by-play. Hearing the crowd behind the announcers. Building the picture of the game in your head.
Years ago, you might have carried a little radio to hear Friday night football. Today, you pull out your phone, hit play and take the game wherever you go.
Technology has changed. Phones have changed. Social media has changed. The way people consume sports has changed. SETXsports has changed with it. But the reason we're here hasn't. We still love Southeast Texas sports. We still love giving fans a place to talk. We still love shining a light on the athletes who represent our communities. More than two decades after it started with a college student who thought Southeast Texas needed its own sports website, we're still here.

Jordan founded SETXsports in 2005 while in college. He has worked behind the scenes from the beginning, coordinating broadcasts, keeping the website running and providing the direction and vision for SETXsports.
Mike has been part of SETXsports for close to two decades. A veteran broadcaster with thousands of broadcasts behind him, he is also a key contact with coaches and helps lead the day-to-day operation of SETXsports.
Aaron coordinates SETXsports broadcast coverage, helps recruit new broadcasters and works key matchups throughout the region. In 2026, he'll cover East Chambers, some Hardin-Jefferson games and other major area matchups.
Jon has been a voice of Newton Eagles football on SETXsports for roughly 15 years. He has called major playoff games and state championship games during his longtime run with the Newton broadcast.
James is the play-by-play voice of Silsbee Tigers football on SETXsports. He has covered Silsbee football and Silsbee sports for many years.
Dennis has been with SETXsports for several years and serves as the play-by-play voice of Kirbyville Wildcats football. He also broadcasts games in other capacities throughout the area.
Todd is part of the Kirbyville Wildcats broadcast team and has been with SETXsports for several years. He covers Kirbyville football and other Wildcat sports, including softball.
Kris has worked with SETXsports in several capacities over the years, calling both football and baseball. His experience has included West Sabine, Lumberton, Kirbyville, Woodville and other programs.
Brandon enters his second season with SETXsports in 2026 and is part of our Bridge City Cardinals football coverage.
John joins SETXsports in 2026 for his first season behind the microphone and will be part of our Orangefield Bobcats football coverage.
Jake joins the SETXsports crew in 2026 and will be part of our Hamshire-Fannett Longhorn football broadcast team.
Chase joins SETXsports for his first season in 2026 and teams with Jake Loiacano as part of our Hamshire-Fannett football coverage.
Tim fills in on broadcasts throughout the season, including playoff coverage, and also assists with production, audio and sound mixing.
