SETXsports follows complete football districts across Southeast Texas, while also maintaining a core group of local schools we cover every year. District alignments change with UIL realignment, so some schools may move in or out of our full district coverage from cycle to cycle.
A star marks a school that is part of our year-round core coverage area. These are schools in and around the Beaumont media market — the teams our local Southeast Texas audience sees, follows and talks about every season. We continue covering these schools even when district realignment changes which complete districts fall inside the SETXsports footprint.
Some local schools remain part of the SETXsports core footprint even when their entire UIL district is not one of the districts we cover from top to bottom. That core also includes selected private-school football programs and a few longtime local schools that currently do not field football. They remain part of the broader SETXsports community even when there is no football record to track.
SETXsports started in 2005 because Southeast Texas needed a place of its own for high school sports. What began as an idea from a college student and lifelong sports fan has grown into more than two decades of broadcasts, conversation, information and community.
Founder Jordan Wilson, a Jasper High School graduate and lifelong sports fan, started SETXsports while still in college.
SETXsports was using the shortened SETX identity from the beginning, long before it became common throughout the region.
For more than two decades, Southeast Texas sports fans have used the SETXsports Forum to share scores, schedules, news, predictions and discussion.
SETXsports crews have broadcast thousands of football, basketball, baseball, softball and other games.
SETXsports broadcasts have always been free to listeners.
SETXsports is locally and independently owned and supported by people who genuinely care about Southeast Texas sports.
There is still something special about listening to your team: the play-by-play, the crowd and the picture you build in your head.
