Based on the comments made by Jasper fans/posters prior to and after the game, it seems that they are some of the classiest around. Props to them and congratulations to the Bulldogs on a hard fought win.

That offense doesn’t need a bunch of plays when it is ran right. There is a reason why you see simple qb keeper busting it for 25 yards on 3rd and long. The offense is about execution and repetitiveness with little wrinkles. Vidor does it better than most.

Sounds like the defense did a great job of keeping the QB pinned up because he gave Vidor some fits. Glad to see Lumberton get their first win of the season and gain some momentum heading into the bye week and the start of district play. Future looks good!

I hear you, those backs are money. My son was able to take him down on the goaline once but he broke his helmet and got some battle scars in the process. He had to tackle those backs a lot last night, which isn’t a good thing because he plays deep safety. It was a good tough game and I think we will get better from it.

Tale of two halves. Silsbee had 216 total yards in 1st half, OF had 37 total yards. Silsbee had 3 turnovers and 6 penalties on offense. Halftime score should have been 21 or 28-0 for Silsbee. Silsbee finished with around 260 total yards and OF 160. (Orangefield came into game averaging 350 yards rushing a game) Silsbee had only two offensive possessions in 2nd half. Orangefield ran 36 plays in 2nd half compared to Silsbee's 11. Silsbee's defense is keeping them in the games. Silsbee's offense kept Orangefield in the game all night. QB is still the issue, IMO. Silsbee was 4-13 passing tonight, for 60 yards, 1 TD and 2 INT's. One of those completions was a shovel pass that went 36 yards for the TD.

Ha, you were posting about LH at the same time I was. There are other schools that do an amazing job at this too. We are spoiled with the wide open offenses these days. They are great, but they aren’t the only way to win. walkoviak once told me he would have won multiple State Championships at Jasper had he ran the wishbone, and I believe him.

I agree with you. The Pirates did a heck of a job most of the night. I was really impressed with how they came out after halftime, too. Jasper showed me a lot after that with how they responded from being behind. I saw a lot that I liked out of both teams and they'll both get better after this.

For the first time in my 13 years at SETXsports.com, I just flat out forgot to put up game threads for tonight's game. I got busy today and just didn't get them up. My heart sank when I got home from the Jasper game and realize what I had forgotten to do. I can't tell you how ashamed I am. It will never happen again.

All joking aside I do love my Pirates! I do believe they can make some noise this year in this district. They always play hard and tough an at the end of the day that’s all you can ask for. Good Luck to you guys. Go Pirates!

Mistakes were made, we gave BP a very short field on their scoring drives. They only had 170 total yards and we racked up 400 on the ground but couldn’t finish drives. We dominated that game and almost lost, same thing at BC it shouldn’t have been that close.

4-3 if you count touchdowns lol we struggled quite a bit on the extra point and 2 point conversions but they did not. At least they didn’t win by as much as they want Reagan!

I think he’s got them headed in a good direction. Tough district, though. With Silsbee, WOS, and BC dropping down, the hawks have their work cut out just to make the playoffs.

In reality....the Tigers performance was overestimated by some. OF probably played the best game they could considering. After the first half performance of Tigers offense didn't create the lead expected Orangefield switched gears to clock control to keep momentum. Shades of Liberty/WOS a few years ago. Big decisions for the coaches to make. I say go all in on establishing younger players with speed of game. Jmo
