Goin from 5a to 4a should make it lots easier. Lumberton really took off when we dropped and now we prolly ready to compete with the 5a's again. I hope vidor does good.

I have nothing but the utmost respect for Coach Babin. Based on what I’ve seen and where he’s been.. he’s definitely a quality coach. But make no mistake, had they not dropped there would have been NO success in football. Keep that in mind. I’m not certain that they could successfully implement a spread style offense where they are now. They go back up to 5A it’s gonna be an immediate struggle. Comments like the one you just made: “A great coach could win at Lumberton using the spread”.. is the reason that the school struggles with consistency in the coaching department. I feel sorry for whoever gets the job knowing that there are fans with unrealistic expectations.

I got some further clarity on the 10-5A-I situation from both Coach Morgan and Matt Stepp. 1. They did continue zone play. Last week's Manvel/Richmond Foster game was the district championship game. 2. Manvel will be the #1 seed out of 10-5A-I. 3. Richmond Foster will be the #2 seed. 4. Hightower has clinched a playoff berth. 5. Paetow and Angleton play this week for the final playoff spot. 6. If Paetow wins, they will play Hightower next week in a #3 seeding game (winner #3 loser #4) 7. If Angleton wins, they will concede the #3 seed to Hightower and enter as the #4 seed.

Lumberton is better than they have ever been in the 4 years I’ve been in this area. This is my observation from me watching them on film in the past and seeing them in person this year. That district is very impressive with the quality of teams. Coach Mitchell does a great job and is a good man. Hardworking and straight class individual.

HJ should win state with this group.

Problem is a superintendent will make the decision for the team. We will see a few more in the next couple of rounds.

That's because Coach Smith refused to play at ancient Abe Martin in Lufkin. Said he would never play there again if he had the choice. Word is that he almost had Carthage talked into playing in Silsbee.

A smart quarterback with the ability to hit a target.. and fairly fast, good route running backs and receivers that can catch. The best spread coach in the world can't beat Alabama with a group of junior high girls.

You think everything is going to happen in 2 seconds. Trumps team is gathering evidence. That's the way it works. If you keep an open mind you will see that there is tons of evidence piling up. Come on -- even you can't think that all of this was a legit election when at the end of election day Trump was up 700,000 votes and then a couple of days later he is losing by 40,000! Even you would have to question this. That's why Pennsylvania was one of the states that stopped the vote count. They had to find the votes. No need to read more in to this game than there was. Both clubs were extremely short handed. The Hawks had 2 starters and a couple of players who get significant minutes missing and 3 starters and one of the first players off the bench who just got through playing football and had a couple of walk thru practices. Some young players on both sides looked pretty good and should add much needed depth this year,

This is the second huge loss we have taken in as many years. Thanks to everybody for the condolences and RIP Coach Randy aka Big Dawg. Thank you for the memories and the thousands of lives you impacted over the last quarter century. I know you’re up there living it up with Reggie as I type this post.

I think this is gonna be a good game. I like the Pirates chances (the ones from DV). I said last week that if HD and DV get past WS and Cushing, they’ve got a clear path to the regional semi’s. The Bobcats couldn’t pull it off but WS will stroll past Sims Bowie by 20+ points. The battle of the Pirates will be closer but i think The ‘Ville brings home a close victory. And if that does happen, they’ll catch Tenaha or Bremond who aren’t invincible this year.... especially a week after they beat up on each other. (I honestly think Tenaha turns it into a track meet and takes Bremond to the woodshed) Good luck Deweyville from HD!!

I would like to think that coaches use whatever system fits the talent or lack of... of the kids they have. I know that a coach is considered a bad coach when they don't win but none of them are trying to lose on purpose...even the bad ones. It's very possible that the kids currently at Lumberton just don't have the personnel to spread it out and sling it around. I understand that's what all of the sideline coaches want their hometown teams to do but let's be real. Everyone wants to go no back with some run/pass option but come on.. Why risk a 70-0 loss due to 3 incompletions and a punt every possession without burning any time. Even the offensive coordinator from Austin Westlake will NOT be able to do whatever he does at WL if he came to Lumberton.

It would be nice to know potential playoff opponents for the 1st round. Dist 8 is in a whole other region and has no baring to either PA or United. And the Chronicle hasn't been doing a great job like it use to of certain Houston area schools......

I think that NED is a solid team. We will see if they can come out and make some stops early. If they can do that it will be close but if they cant it will be a walk away. BH defense has payed well this year even against Crosby. So if we can continue that and the O can keep it moving like we have since Crosby then I say BH by minimum of 14.
