Both those games should have been Silsbee wins. Couple of bad breaks but that's football.

From my understanding, Silsbee's defensive line is a bit under sized. (missing Ayden Bell terribly). It also didn't help losing a key linebacker (Saenz) during the game. Silsbee's defense simply got wore down in 2nd half due to being on the field 75-80% of the time in 2nd half.

Then add in the fact that these are children and the mask are even less useful with nose wiping & sticking their hands in their mouths. Kevon’s mother posted on Facebook that he had a concussion and swelling and bleeding behind one eye that will require surgery next week. There was no bleeding on the brain and no bone fractures. They are giving him medication to help him sleep at night.

Ain’t no one beating their chest after one game! You can agree with the HC hire or disagree with the hire. Believe your tax $$$ are being wasted etc. But one thing is for certain. We have to get behind the HC and his team and buy into what he is selling to give his program a chance. This is a young team with years ahead of them. A lot of opportunity for growth and experience to be learned this year. But if you don’t go into each game believing your have a chance to win, you’re already defeated. This is my last son to go through the program and I have this year and 2 more. I, just like many, believe we will see improvement each game and are excited to see the growth.

Who cares if he was egotistical, as long as he got the job done. That’s the difference between conservatives and liberals, we want results and they’re about intentions and emotions. As far as FDR goes, he’s responsible for a lot of the entitlement issues we are having now, which was doubled down by Johnson. He was by no means a great President, unless you’re a fan of Socialism. What I saw and heard were typical week 1 mistakes. Coach T's absence surely didn't help and the Dogs had more than a little bit to do with it. They are gonna beat some folk this season. WOS execution was lacking but they do have some specimens and will be a handful as the season goes on.

1. Mostly a coach, but on offense the QB shares a large burden for this too. That coach may have had some other responsibilities due to the HC being gone. Ultimately, it’s the head coaches fault for not covering that contingency. 2. The players are as responsible as anyone for this item. Of course, the coaches need to make sure it’s happening correctly. Ultimately, it’s the head coaches fault for not covering that contingency. 3. Yes they should, and a large majority of them (especially HC’s) know this rule. Ultimately, it’s the head coaches fault for not stressing that rule to his assistants and players. Your advice to the players is spot on. Note about hydration: Not just water, but Powerade, Gatorade or even Pedialite. Stay away from caffeine and alcohol (both dehydrate). That’s why I never drank beer until AFTER the game… 😇

I would not label Jasper as a mediocre 4A team. They are ranked in the top 20. Now PNG and United, one could say they are mediocre 5A teams.

You’re not very smart. I know several of those coaches very well. The ones I know have more than just a clue about coaching. Facts: 1. Its the first game of the season. Let’s relax before throwing the whole season in the dumpster. 2. The head coach is gone. It’s definitely going to throw confusion into the mix. Hopefully they can work out the kinks and the confusion before next week. 3. They were playing a good Nederland team that are also in a bigger division. It wasn’t supposed to be a cakewalk. Give Nederland their props for being good. 4. The game was called early due to weather. If WOS had the full clock and came back to win, y’all would be touting this coaching staff as the best in the area. They lost by 1 score guys… Most importantly. If those coaches were to blame, then that falls on Coach T for not having a contingency plan for him not being there and for not selecting and developing better coaches for his staff. I guess if you want to blame a coach, go to the top. That’s where the buck stops. I just don’t think that’s the case. Prayers for Coach T and his recovery. And prayers for the fans and the armchair coaches who just don’t know better. It’s not their fault either. They mean well but might be stupid.

I guess in larger classifications with higher enrollments like lake Travis going fast and throwing the ball don’t really effect them because that the talent pool to rotate. I think as the year goes on Silsbee will be fine. I do think when it was 4th and 1 I would have ran the ball.

Yessir Aldine along with many many others. The districts that come to mind in DFW are Garland, Mesquite, Richardson, Irving, Carrollton; they all used to produce great football teams, but are now no longer competitive

I guess. My point is…. The demographics of not just south Texas, But SETX and eventually all of Texas will change. If it changes to majority Hispanic people, then so be it. But I believe the quality of football will adjust as well once it’s evened out. I am aware of the so called ‘Hispanic Takeover’ which many say happened to programs like Aldine and schools like that.
