hopefully so. Argyle is good, but they're young. HJ has all the experience you can ask for, and has played a brutal schedule. Always kinda nice to get to state and have already played 7-8 teams better on your schedule than anyone there.

My dad really liked him and loved to tell a story that was I’m sure a “stock” one for Jan. He would tell people about a game where he was so bad he couldn’t make anything. He said he was so mad after his 4th missed FG, he went to kick the bench and was lucky he didn’t break his foot. Because, as he would tell it, he was so bad that day he missed that too. 😂

The 5a boys regional tournament will be played at Campbell Center in Aldine…

I don't think that they would play locally. They would meet in the Regional Finals which I believe is played in Katy. I may be wrong on the location though.

On their website, there is only two games listed for them to stream tonight. Irion County/Balmorhea and Kingwood Park/Katy Paetow. [Hidden Content] There has been a lot of spam on Twitter and other social media sites claiming to broadcast games. I believe this is one of those cases. Dayton ISD has not been contacted from any broadcast entity.

I tend to agree. Yates won the first two meetings, '13 (Reg. Q) and '14 (RQ). Silsbee won in '17(Reg. Final) and '18 (RF). Yates won in '19 (RF) and then Silsbee won last year, '21 (Area). A Tiger win tonight would have Silsbee winning 4 of the last 5. I agree, all the games have been great. I honestly think Silsbee should be up 4-2. Let that '19 game get away from them. Should have won that one. But, I also think had Silsbee not lost to Life Waxahachie regional semis in '20 (a game they should have won) they most likely lose to Yates in regional final.

Silsbee will have to really take care of the ball. WOS got rolled 16 - 2 in the first first few minutes in a run that was in no way indicative of the way the two teams matched up. The score at half time and the final score were proof of that. The Tigers need to be ready from the tipoff.

Teams had to change some of their favorite plays because of Butkus. When asked why he hit so hard, Butkus said he didn’t want the player to have to get up and look to see what numbered jersey tackled him……he wanted him to already know it was Butkus. Butkus would also call QB cadence and was known for spitting on the football while the center was about to snap it. He was one-of-a kind. This is from memory before watching this video.

I actually voted for Cruz in the primaries. Of course when Trump became the Republican candidate it was a no brainer to vote for him over Hillary. I never took Trump serious until he got into office an started putting America First in his decision’s. After the first year I started thinking he could end up being the Best President ever in my lifetime. An in my opinion I believe he is the best president we had in the last 50 years. Nah, I doubt it. A job is what you make of it. Apparently, that’s the rumor that’s been put into everyone’s ear…. That the BU job is bottom tier. But the fact of the matter is that coaches in BISD has access to pretty good resources and have access to some fine athletes as well. And the pay is on par with pay from multi HS districts (no AD title). But folks know this coming in the door, but it ends up being a problem later. 🤷🏾‍♂️ At the end of the day, I’m glad ok dude is gone and it’s done early. Plenty of time to get someone in so he can hire a staff, all before spring football…
