  1. With CT coaching my money would be on the Mustangs. Slot T would be stopped dead in its tracks. In addition this current WOS team would not be in fourth place limping into the playoffs. Unfortunately this WOS staff will be out coached and out executed. Lack of discipline and untimely penalties will doom the Mustangs. Too many quality kids and families to not have the very best coaching they can get. It’s very tough watching the Mustang football program become just another program. Years of hard work blood sweat and tears to build a juggernaut of a program all being dismantled at an alarming rate. Our kids and community deserve better. We can do better!

  8. AI's prediction: It is difficult to predict the outcome of a sporting event with certainty, as there are many factors that can influence the result. However, I can provide you with some information that may help you make an informed prediction. West Orange-Stark Mustangs, Record: 5-5 Strengths: High-powered offense, experienced quarterback Bellville Brahmas, Record: 10-0 Strengths: Strong defense, experienced running back Based on each team's record and game statistics, the Bellville Brahmas have the advantage in this contest. They have a better record, allow fewer points per game, and have a powerful running back. However, the West Orange-Stark Mustangs have a high-powered offense and an experienced quarterback, so they should not be counted out. Ultimately, the outcome of this game will depend on which team plays better on the day. If the West Orange-Stark Mustangs can limit their turnovers and make a few big plays, they could pull off an upset. However, if the Bellville Brahmas can control the clock and run the ball effectively, they should be able to win this game. Here is my prediction: Bellville Brahmas 32, West Orange-Stark Mustangs 26

  9. Hey, better than last year. You never know what will happen. That's why they play the game. Could it be a butt wippen? Heck yeah. Go in there dogs and play loose. Go in there as if you own the place. You might wake up some old echoes.

    Whats this about

Where I work has nothing to do with this, and I didn't think this was a right or wrong situation. It doesn't affect me in anyway. Schools across the state have opted up for years. I'm called biased for my PNG background and now HJ lol. My parents went to TJ. Grandparents to Hemphill and Orange. So let's throw some more in there haha. We'll leave out the cousins a HF, Bridge City, etc.

  12. I'm old school and I like just two teams going to playoffs. But, I'm good with 4 teams as long as every district has a minimum 7-8 teams. I don't like 4 teams going out of a district that has just 4-6 teams in it. A team should be required to win more district games than they lose or at least be .500 to get a playoff spot. I have seen some playoff teams only win one district game and actually seen a team go without winning a district game because they were in a district with just 4 teams. I could care less what a teams overall record is because non-district games don't factor in and some teams schedule harder than others in non district. But IMO, a team should have at minimum a .500 record in district play to qualify.

  13. Pretty good one in the first round. I'll be coming out of retirement and will be in the broadcast booth for this one. Looking forward to a great game and broadcast. What's everyone's thoughts on this match up?

  16. Wrong. Little Sister Mauriceville. New acronym. It’s a reference to LCM bejng WOS’s little sister. If you read all the posts instead of just trolling, you would have seen that.

I think HJ trying to move up is not in their favor. I have been going to HJ games the last 5 years, and the talent is there, but the effort is not. I have seen some kids quit on the field and seeing this from the stands that is not a good look.

    Whats this about

Sounds like some fragile egos in Orange, Looking at histories it sure seems like Lumberton and LCM have more in common than they want to believe. couple more play off appearances I think and maybe a few playoff wins. overall win/loss is very even. LCM has head to head. Seems like LCM is screaming and teary eyed trying to convince themselves that they are more like PNG and Ned than Lumberton.

  19. I think they're riding on the coat tails of WOS. Success by geography, I guess. They're kinda like Uncle Rico talking about what could have been... I'm from Lumberton. Played there, raised athletes there, announced football games there, ran the booster club there... I know who we are and who we aren't. Winning tradition? No. Mecca? Definitely not. Going to the 4th round? Probably not. Current undisputed District Champions (ahead of the Bears)? Damn Right! Lol. It's just funny to see the guys tout LSM like they are state contenders year in and year out. Just having some fun with the guys who fizzled out after the 12th grade...

    Whats this about

Makes scheduling a little easier. You can line up things for varsity down to junior high. It's also nice to compete against teams in middle school/junior high all the way up. My middle school district was Groves, Port Neches, Woodrow Wilson (Lincoln), West Orange, Bridge City, Little Cypress, Mauriceville. We moved up to 5A, but when we dropped back down my junior year that's who we played again. I don't have a strong opinion or another, but the UIL has allowed this to happen in the past. Until they stop opt-ups for any reason, this will happen.

  34. HJ and Liberty currently compete in all sports from junior high up to varsity against Liberty, Huffman, Livingston, Splendora and Hamshire-Fannett. Football is the only district that doesn't look like that. So to me if there's no rule against it and they choose to move up, let it be.

  35. I could've been successful with them. The difference is those coaches from the previous era would have this group in the semis. Just like last year when we were picked to play Carthage by the experts at DCTF

  36. Crosby/Dayton used to be a great rivalry. Now both programs stink on ice. How long will it be tolerated?

  37. That Highschool cannot hold 3800 students so the two High School talk is going to restart again. Even with the planned expansion that building is no where near big enough to hold that population. Ten year projections have been waaaay off before but perhaps this is our last alignment pre-6A we will see. When we get put in that Humble/King/NS district we are going to quickly become irrelevant in football unless there is some fantastic program building.
