West Orange-Stark (39) @ Jasper (36) - FINAL
hondo1 replied to jdawg03's topic in High School Football
Was is Wos Football in 1983 when they went 3-7, 94 when LCM smoked theM at home, or when they blew an 18 point halftime lead in a the State Championship game in 2014? All of which occurred with one or both of the coaches that yall WORSHIP ON THIS BUSTED UP SITE. Why don't you and everyone on here that thinks like you, and all of yall know who and what you are, just admit it...YOU CANT STAND THE FACT THIS MAN GOT THE JOB, and it ain't got To do with him being an outsider! He was on the WOS staff for at least 6 years before he got the job!. They could go 16 - 0, beat 16 teams all ranked in the top 10, and win every game 75 to 0..and yo " small" Would still be complaining 🙄 -

WO-S can do without fans like YOU!!!!!!!!!!!
It seems like every year WOS draws the weakest opponment for bi-district...Couple more links out of the chain and WOS will be a spectator..... ;) ;) ;) ;D
IF YOU`RE GOING TO RUN YOUR MOUTH ABOUT WO-S , OR ANY TEAM , YOU SHOULD AT LEAST BE KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT HOW PLAYOFFS PAIRINGS WORK " IN ALL SPORTS" PEOPLE WON`T KNOW HOW UNINFORMED YOU ARE IF YOU KEEP YOUR MOUTH CLOSED!!!! IN FOOTBALL (HIGH SCHOOL, COLLEGE, PRO) THE OBJECTIVE IS TO WIN YOUR DISTRICT, CONFERENCE, OR DIVISION) IN ALL CASES THE CHAMPION DRAWS A WEAKER OPPONENT FOR THEIR FIRST PLAYOFF GAME. WHEN WO-S STARTS MAKING THEIR OWN SCHEDULE, AND CHOOSING THEIR OWN PLAYOFF OPPONENTS, THEN YOU CAN SPEW YOUR NONSENSE ABOUT WHO THEY`RE PLAYING. UNTIL THEN , STOP LETTING EVERYBODY KNOW YOUR IQ WHEN YOU OPEN YOUR MOUTH!!!!!!!!!!!
the same goes for wo-s thay were flaged alot lastnight and dropen very easy passes that would have been easy touchdowns the kids were wide open and droped them as you can see mustangs need work
there you go again with your whining, uninformed comments! wo-s 3 penalties 30 yards. there isn`t a a team anywhere in the country that wouldn`t take that statistic every game. if you secretly don`t want wo-s to win , JUST SAY SO!!!!!!!!!!!
the next two weeks the wo-s fans will see just how good thay are. bridge is no push over thay can move the ball on the ground and in the air this will be a good test for the kids at wo-s and then the game all of silsbee has been waiting for and we all should know how good silsbee is and playing at home is a big plus very hard to win games there
VNUPE IS CORRECT, YOU DO SEEM TO ALWAYS HAVE NEGATIVE COMMENTS ABOUT THE MUSTANGS, CONSIDERING IT`S A TEAM YOU`RE SUPPOSED TO BE SUPPORTING. WHY DON`T YOU SIT ON THE OPPOSING TEAM`S SIDE FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON -

You have equated singling out a specific player with criticizing a group of players. They are not the same thing. It is not hypocrisy if there is a substantial qualitative difference in the comparison. Give it up. P.S. It is not a question of us worshiping Coach T. Some of us are just painfully aware of his importance to the program. Some of us want Toby to come back for the same reasons. There is something more than just rhetoric to the phrase "Mustang Football." If Coach T leaves without a worthy homegrown replacement, that program will die. The best thing that could have happened would have been for Toby to stay as OC til he could take the reigns from Coach T. Hopefully he will come back so that the legacy can live on.
please, Mr. JUDEX, and anyone else who wants to say anything, stick to facts and relevance PLEASE!!!!! NOW, whenever you`re trying to determine the validity of an action it never has anything to do with the number of people involved, whether it`s the person comitting the act or the person that the act is comitted to! I`ll make it real simple for you so you can GET the point! EXample 1. The UIL has determined that it is against the rules to play academically ineligible players, players that don`t live in the proper school zone etc... in the early 90`s WO-S had ONE player determined to be academically ineligible and had to forfeit several games and was disqualified for the playoffs, even though they would have been districts champs. that involved one player! Example 2. a few years ago Katy was one or two games away from playing for the state championship, a parent fed the whole team, the UIL determined that was a violation and they were kicked out of the playoffs. here is the point, and it doesn`t matter if it`s an individual, an organization, or what. IF IT`S WRONG TO DO SOMETHING, THEN IT`S WRONG TO DO IT, WHETHER IT`S DONE TO ONE PERSON OR A MILLION PEOPLE. whether you`re talking about how we treat each other in the community (manners, etiquette etc...) or following the rules of some governmental agency. the number of people involved is IRRELEVANT!!!! here`s something i think we all can agree on:for example it would be wrong to put an innocent man to death, because it`s wrong, not because of how many peolple were involved. FOLLOWING YOUR LOGIC, ONE PLAYER vs SEVERAL PLAYERS it would be ok to put one innocent man to death and it would only be wrong if several were put tp death, WHICH IS PATENTLY RIDICULOUS to your point about having a "home grown" coach be integral to the success of wo-s football: Steve Mccarty started that program, he had never coached in the district, neither had Dan Hooks. the community is the key to the success of wo-s football, the parents, along with the kids develop a passion to play football, and to play for wo-s long before they ever reach the seventh grade and they will play for whoever is the coach. as long as there is a high school in orange there will be a successful football program, where the coach is from has nothing to do with how good of a coach he is. Orange texas had a proud history of producing great high school football players who went on to play professional football, long before Dan Hooks & Cornell thompson showed up and it`l continue after they`re gone. LEARN YOUR HISTORY BROTHER, and please stop being willfully ignorant, because it is hypocritical
I know the history at least as well if not better than you. What Steve, Dan, and Cornell started together is what the program has become and there was nothing like it in Orange before. There's a reason that Dan did not lightly pass the torch. If you want to get down to it, Ronnie Anderson was arguably as big a loss to football as he was for the baseball program. You see what has happened to the Mustang Baseball program since his departure. You can shout big words all day and it doesn't make you any more intelligent or right. Embarrassing an individual kid by calling them out specifically is entirely different than calling out the team or a section of the team. Picking on one player is wrong for a reason that ipso facto does not apply to a "group" of players. Perhaps it is your willful ignorance that is the problem. If you want to make this an intellectual pissing contest with me, you better head back to the store for some bigger boots and a wet suit. You are in way over your head.
once again MR.JUDEX: Deny Facts as a Modus Operrandi! "What Steve, Dan, and Cornell started together is what the program has become and there was nothing like it in Orange before". do you know why one use`s quotation marks when writing?? it`s to show exactly what someone else has said, IN THIS CASE WHAT YOU SAID! have you ever heard of "coach" Willie Ray Smith ?? who happens to have a yearly award named after him, of which several wo-s players have been the recepient. I submit that his legend speaks for itself and is of national prominence, and guess what? he started his legendary career in ORANGE TEXAS, where you said no one had ever achieved anything remotely similar to what Dan & Steve & Cornell had(paraphrasing of course, would`n want to put words in your mouth). perhaps he wasn`t a "REAL MAN" like Cornell, Steve, & Dan, or maybe he was only 3/5 of a man. How about Wallace High School ?? where coach Smith coached them to back to back state championships. the high school that all the citizens of Orange were proud of and bragged about to their friends and family throughout the area and the state, where the crowds would be standing room only on many occassions. How about Ernie Ladd, Garland Boyette, Charles Johnson, just to name a few football legends from ORANGE TEXAS who went on to play in the NFL. the building is still standing, just as the LEGEND STILL STANDS, unless the boundaries of Orange Texas changed since last night, then everything i just mentioned happened in Orange and the people who made the accomplishments did it as CITIZENS of ORANGE TEXAS!!!! without ANY help from DAN ,STEVE, or CORNELL!!!!!! perhaps you`ve heard of Andre Robertson, the first black to play baseball at UT& he went on to be a star outfielder for the NY YANKEES, ask Roderick(who i`m sure you`ve heard of) who was the better football player him or Andre. West Orange went to the playoffs several times before there ever was a merger as did Stark. I could go on but I know facts are irrelevant to you and your "Crowd". to once AGAIN address your ridiculous point about how many people were involved & whether or someone`s name was called. If Jason Garrett goes on ESPN & says I have the sorriest tight ends in the league, that`s not calling anyones name specifically, but everyone in the entire universe who follows the NFL wuold know exactly who he`s talking, that would be his perogative to do that, but do you think it help or hinder his relationship with those players???? Now, HOW HARD IS IT FOR ANYONE WHO FOLLOWS WO-S FOOTBALL TO KNOW WHO HE WAS TALKING ABOUT WHEN HE CALLED OUT HIS SENIORS????????? its not like they have a hundred man roster. Let me answer this post for you. what happened at Wallace was a long time ago, we`re talking about "RECENT HISTORY" how am i doing so far???? it`s been 10 yrs since wo-s played for & 24yrs since they won a championship. I`ll assume you`re a Dallas fan, when you brag about Dallas, do you only mention their most recent dreadful playoff record, or do you brag on their entire history, including ALL of their Super bowls (I DO) once again, either you`re willfully ignornant, biased against anyone or anything that doesn`t fit your WORLDVIEW, or you`re incapable of acknowdledging the TRUTH. PS: as far me being in over my head with an intellectual "LIGHT WEIGHT" like you PLEASE. if you had said I was over, as in standing over, your pal KICKERS` head, then I could have understood that. Kicker, there is medicine for "SHORT MAN SYNDROME"
LOL. Judex and Kicker, stop while your behind. This man is armed with facts and you just make yourself look stupid everytime you try and dispute it. Truth be told, some of you need to totally support the Mustangs by going watch the Little Mustangs football team. You will see this is where these great WO-S players are developed and guess what, they are coached by ex Mustang players who should have be given a chance to coach the High School team. These kids are dominating people and you don't see Thompson or any of the other coaches out there supporting these kids. By the time these high school coaches get these players, they are already developed as players. The credit needs to go to these Little league coaches who develop these players and don't get a pay check.
that would be asking Tooooo Muchhh for them to support the Whole system and give anyone else any credit, it might ruin their fantasy

Just because a guys around for 30+ years we are suppose to forget the fact he blamed the players for the loss. Kids are gonna make mistakes they are human but don't throw them under the bus when it was very obvious the play caller clearly didn't have his act together so therefore it's going to cause the players to look as though they don't know what they are doing. I don't recall him being "thrown under the bus" on public radio. Just sayin'
I heard the interview a little while ago. He talked about some players being selfish and not being team players. Personally, I think they should play it again on the loud speakers at practice so everyone can hear it because he was right on the money. Ridiculous to accuse him of throwing someone under the bus. It's motivation and is absolutely necessary at times and this is one of them.
Well it should be looked at the same way when the coach is being criticize because he's not getting it done. Some of you are such hypocrites. You guys never think it's justified to criticize the coaches, but have no problem criticizing children. If the kids can't get it then it still goes back to the coaches. These same kids had no problem getting it last year.
Are you calling me a hypocrite? I haven't said a thing to you about your little rants. I think people are freaking out for no reason and that's my opinion. Am I not entitled to my opinion? And besides, who is criticizing children? I'm not and neither has anyone else. Cornel Thompson criticized the attitude of some of his players which is his job to do, he is the coach. He is not a whinny complainer on a public message board. Surely, even you can see the difference.
it may be thompson`s job to critique his players, but he didnt have to do it publicly. when you start publicly critcizing your children, or anyone in high school, then you`ll have a legitimate claim. it seems to me all of you hypocrits on here who want to build some monument to coach thompson, and crucify anyone who questions his coaching style, or suggest that he could possibly have done anything wrong, like publicly calling out his players, then you want to say the players are "almost" grown men and they should be able to take it. well, i remember a few years ago when one of wo-s` assistant coaches son was the the QB, and people criticized his play, you all ran to his defense, and said how no one should be criticizing a high school kid. DO YOU REALLY THINK THE SENIORS ON THIS TEAM DON`T THAT THEY ARE SENIORS ?????/ , AND THAT ANYONE WHO PICKS UP A PROGRAM DOESN`T KNOW WHO THEY ARE? IT DOESN`T MATTER THAT HE DIDN`T CALL A SPECIFIC NAME, HE BESMIRCHED ALL OF THE SENIORS BY CALLING THEM OUT. SO MAKE YOUR MINDS UP, YOU CAN`T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS
You know, I would be willing to bet that you have been "besmirched' by Thompson, or maybe have a beef with the program itself. Im not sure where you get off calling us hypocrites or "building a monument of Coach T", but we give respect where respect is due. WOS has always been different because of the blunt coaching. That is the MUSTANG way, not Coach T's or anyone elses. Seems like the only people that have their panties in a wad about this are the ones that couldnt cut the dicipline at WOS or are an outsider that has no clue about the program. Give it a rest and go back into your hole. I love when people get on here and hide behind an avatar.
typical conservative psychosis: 1. demonize anyone you disagree with 2. deny facts 3. wear hypocrisy as a badge of honor 4. no objectivity fact 1. having respect for a man has absolutely nothing to do with the rightness, or wrongness of his actions. fact 2. the issue is not who is the most in love with cornell thompson, but, is it acceptable to publicly criticize high school athletes for their play on the field. as i previously stated, it was you & everyone else on this board who thinks like you, who , when a certain coaches son played QB for WO-S ( whom you all supported) was being criticized, you all said it was wrong, and these were high school kids, and they read these boards, and their feelings might get hurt if they saw that criticism. at that time you supported that player and didnt care for the people doing the criticizing. Now, we have a more egregious situation, it`s not some annonymous person that the players dont know thats publicly criticizing them, but it`s their own coach, but you happen to rabidly support the person who did the criticizing this time, so now it`s ok to publicly criticize high school athletes( some WO-S senior players) either it`s ok to publicly critcize high school athletes or not , it cant be both, or based on how you feel about the parties involved. definition: hypocrite (1) A person who engages in the same behaviors he condemns others for. (2) A person who professes certain ideals, but fails to live up to them. (3) A person who holds other people to higher standards than he holds himself. in case you`re still wondering why you`re a hypocrit, you can not be on both sides of the same issue. you`re condemed by your own words, you know exactly what player i`m talking about, just as everyone who follows WO-S football does, and you know everything that i`ve said is true. You said it was wrong to criticize that player, what makes the current players any different????? to your friends who insinuate that someone has an agenda, or is trying to cause dissension, i defer to my previous comment about not having any objectivity. it seems to me that if ANYONE has done anything to cause dissension it`s thompson himself. did anyone pay him, or coerce him to say what he said? NO, is he NOT RESPONSIBLE for what comes out of his mouth? regardless of what you think of me, the players , or thompson, we wouldn`t be having this conversation if he had kept his mouth shut. contrary to what you may believe, I admire coach thompson too, but that doesn`t mean I cant criticize him when i think he`s wrong. i don`t owe any man blind loyalty. what person is in your life that you have never found fault with anything they`ve said or done ???????? that person doesn`t exist ! PS: to the person that asked, I heard the whole interview. coach thompson can tell his players anything he likes within the "family" of the team, in the privacy of "their" locker room, but when any coach steps to that microphone, for the sake of team unity, he has to speak as they are all in it together, as one, REGARDLESS OF WHAT HE IS REALLY FEELING
