  1. Lost composure only account for 6 FT's.  One was a foul and then tech on one player in the 3rd, who fouled out,  then another tech on a different player. It did not account for the rest of the 34 FT's, not counting the 6 fouls you doon't shoot on before the FT's start each half.  The refs did call a few bad calls, that went Hardin's way, maybe 3 or 4. and the EC crowd boo'd the ref for it.  But for a team that pressed the whole game, only commiting 8 fouls, the refs just let them play. Alot of jumpers were not shot in the 1st half, excellent defense by Hardin then.  The difference is Hardin did not have a deep bench and it hurt. But the FTs were a huge part. EC did fine FT shooting making 21 of the 34.  Again,  good luck to EC in the playoffs. Hardin is a young team, 3 freshman and 4 soph's on Varsity this year. One freshman started every game, and another started in alot of them.  Keep working, get in the gym.
  2. True a few Hardin players lost composure.  EC shot 34 FT's, to Hardins 8, would have some lose composure. Not an excuse, they still have to play no matter how one sided the calls were at home.  Good luck to Kountze, Anahuac and EC in the playoffs.
  3. Lack of concentration, you have to want to be good at shooting free throws, get the technique down, have a ritual about it. I see alot of kids, just walk up and throw the ball up, or shoot it, miss and not make the corrections for the next one.  It drives coaches crazy.  I know they are taught the fundamentals of a FT, they practice it.  It is a lost art.
  4. Hardin by 6.    But Hardin must come out of the gate ready to go, or EC will take this one.
  5. Kountze at Hardin moved to Saturday  Girls at 1pm,  Varsity only
  6. Kountze at Hardin moved to Saturday , Girls at 1pm  Boys at 230.  No subvarsity games .
  7. If we get real honest here, these are all opinions.  I would bet a dollar to a doughnut that nobody from around here has been all around the state watching the best freshmen playing.  It is very unlikely that anyone on this board has any ability to DOCUMENT that Bosha is one of the best freshmen and EQUALLY unlikely that anyone can DOCUMENT than he isn't. Exactly... so there is the answer, who can compare.  Although Dove has seen many play in the summer as have I. As far as most valuable,  I agree to disagree,  i know of a few that are also as valuable as freshman to their teams. I agree he is the most valuable freshman playing varisty for HJ.
  8. Dove has been watching Se tx, Houston, Dallas and other talent for a few years. It is agreed that Bosha is a good player, with tons of potential. Has anyone else gone out and seen some of the other good freshman players to compare them?  Or is your opinion based on just watching Bosha's play alone? Just curious if people are out comparing.
  9. Safety concerns for travel of players and fans.  Hardin at Warren, sub varsity cancelled,    Boys Varsity play at 5pm, Girls Varsity to follow, its Warren's girls Senior night, so boys will play 1st tonight.
  10. Bosha is good, but they are several good freshman all over Se Texas. Let's wait and see how they all progress in high school, it will be exciting to watch.
  11. It is difficult to adjust to the uneven foul count,  but it must be done.  For the most part, Kountze did that to have the lead at one point, and still only lose by 4.  Easy put backs, fast breaks and not getting back on defense was more of a deciding factors then fouls called or not called.
  12. Kountze did not get back on defense, no urgency, not enough rebounds.  That being said, early foul trouble, that stayed the whole game.  EC is a good team and you have to be ready for them.  There is no way Kountze/Joubert was looking ahead at the playoffs, and thinking a loss is better for seeding.  IF you think that, you do not know Joubert.  It was a good game by both teams.  The fould count was very uneven, but I think it was not the deciding factor.
  13. Agreed.  It was not a power struggle.  I thought the ref under the basket should have made the call.  I have never seen it called like this, with the double foul.
  14. or the 3rd ref,  break the tie.
  15. That was the explanation given to both coaches,  this is a blarge, double foul and a jump ball.
  16. anyone heard of it called in a game?  Player A going up for a shot near the ft line,  player B atempting to take a charge.  Ref closest to play calls a block,  ref on sideline away from play calls a charge. 3rd ref never gets in the mix.  meeting between officials, decided its a blarge,  both players given fouls, basket is no good, and its a jump ball.  happened last night,  play was very close, but player A was to the side of the defensive player, i would have called a block.
  17. KTZ,  depends on which refs they get, as to how much they win by... LOL
  18. A normal starter did not play much and did not start, due to a recent injury. Is this who they are referring to?
  19. But shouldn't the topic be of a sports subject matter and not a umm for better words a urinating contest?
  20. Very good game.  Hardin played the best they have played this season.  I am very proud of these young men.  Several missed shots and this would have been much closer at the end.  Glen Roberts came on the give EC a spark with some key 3's in the 4th.  Early foul trouble for Hardin and a senior guard tweaked his ankle.  Foul count was 17 against Hardin and 7 against EC.  EC only had fouls called agasint them in the 2nd and 4th quarters, 3 and 4 respectively.  Not blaming refs, but it took Hardin out of their game for a bit.  EC pressed most of the game, and only had 7 fouls?  Take nothing away from either team,  Great job by both clubs.
  21. Gonna try to catch Josh Reece on the JV, then head to my son's game. Hard to see other kids around here, when your kid is playing too.
