1. Im confident that we have it in us to beat Nederland since we've done it already this year.  We'll regroup and get it together for the next meeting.  8) 8)
 2. This game is exactly how i thought it would be.  Nederland started out hot at the begining of the game.  We made adjustments and ended up back in the game.  Ended the half playing great defense to only see Nederland make a flip up 3.  The gAme continued to remain clase until a series of key rebounds by Nederland after free throws game them maybe 6 or 7 straight points.  Now, in the 4th period, i have no idea why we went back to the zone.  I also dont know why we called off the pressure.  We used this to get back in the game.  I also dont know why we dont have set plays out of timouts or set plays at all.  We have to be able to get buckets or get open looks for buckets.  I would say we were outcoached, but this is not the case.  We forgot how to make baskets in the 4th and Nederland played their best ball and executed their game plan in this period.  Props to them.  We look forward to paying them back in the next meeting at Central.  The officiating was trash, but i cant complain because it was trash on bpth ends. Dunk count was at 0, but there were some key plays on dunk attempts.  K Smith got his dunk attempt blocked from behind and #21 for Nederland got his dunk blocked by our shortest man, a 5'6" freshmen on a breakaway dunk.  Lets rebound Friday, Jags, get better and get those bulldogs next time.
 3. How do you figure I'm jealous?  I'm happy for the Nederland program.
 4.
I guess "use him" implied that the offensive player could do whatever he wanted with the defender on him.  Got it straight off the streets in Orange many many years ago.
Oh.  Ok.  Gotcha.  8)
;D ;D ;D ;D a two nanded chest pass count?  ;D ;D  You know, I've just thought about something.  'Those' fans probably get a kick out of 'crossing over' someone and making their 'ankle break' and cause the defender to fall only to miss the layup or turn the ball over. Since it got the fans excited, maybe we should keep a count of that as well, right?
Not necessary.  I have been seeing about 200 games per year for many years and there has never been a crossover that caused a broken ankle.  But since you bring that up, how about this?  I would like to see somebody keep an "airball" shot count in spite of the fact that the airball is no more detrimental to the teams score than a missed mid range jumper.
The 'ankle break' is the basketball term when you slip and fall after being 'shaken' with a 'crossover'.  Come on, Stevenash.  Have you not heard of those 'basketball' terms before?  LOL @ an airball shot count.  ;D
New term for me.  Familiar with cross over and shaken but never heard of ankle break.  There was a time when "use him" was the term reflecting the cross over that caused an ankle break.
'Use him'?  I've heard of 'abuse him' meaning that the defender cannot keep the offensive player from doing what he wanted to do.
I'm sorry.  I was under the impression that it was an important stat since there was a dunk-o-meter for H-J games earlier this year.  So, I figured I would inquire about the dunk count.  Some seem to think it is more important than a sweet midrange jumper or a layup.  ;)
Correction- "Some" came to the conclusion that it "appears" to be more important because certain posters(not me) were "oohing and ahhhing" about a particular dunk.  I read all of those posts and at NO point did anyone STATE that a dunk was more important/valuable than any other shot that delivers two points even though it appeared to trouble some that they were having the conversation.  I must confess, though, that I like the percentage chances of a dunk going through the hoop over the sweet mid range jumper.
I believe that 'those' were H-J fans, am I correct?  Yes, I said fan(s).  I'll also be looking forward to my weekly dunk count on H-J's next game.  8) 8) BTW, I'll take the easy layup over the dunk that is only 2 points just because the 'crowd' wants to see it.  ;)
The "crowd" wants to see the easy layup over the dunk?  Interesting.  Yes, the conversation about the dunk was between two HJ fans but the one "troubled" by the conversation was a Central fan who immediately reminded the others that the point value was the same ( I'll bet they already knew that)
I've stated that I would rather see the layup than the dunk (it's thougth that most people dunk when they could have done an easy layup because that's what the crowd wants to see).
Yes, the midrange jumper count.  I have a feeling that based on the teams that will be on the floor tonight, you will see a lot of midrange jumpers.  Now if most of them fall?  that remains to be seen.

 14. Yes, I can if you want.  ;D
 15. I know one thing.  It will definatly be worth the price of admission!
 16.
All of this sounds very similar to what Coach Sutherland and his staff have done at HJ.  The HJ Little Dribblers is bigger and better than it has ever been, and the HJ coaches are involved in it. Amazing how it works...... ;) ;) ;) Congrats to Ned, and pulling for you to beat those Jags tonight!!!
;) 8)

There are more, but that's a good start. Coach Hadnot is doing a great job, but I'd rather not see someone thrown under the bus, by an overgeneralized statement.
Let  me find out that you're a basketball fan...  ;D ;D ;) ;)
 18. Wow.  Will Dayton win district or will Crosby have something to say about that?
 19. Seems like he sees that the talent pool at Friendswood was a little shabby and wanted to get away while he was still a high commodity.  Pretty smart move.  He wants to avoid consecutive subpar seasons, so he'll take just one.
 20.
Any way you want to look at it, it should still be a great game! Can't wait for tomorrow!
yes indeed!  I can't wait until later today.
 21.
I will be pulling for my Bulldogs! They know the Central players as does Central knows ours. Lots of summer games and such. This should be a really good game with both teams playing with actual purpose! I say: Bmt. Central - 53 Nederland - 57
So, the first time they played Central won because they were not playing for a purpose?  Im sure Ozen thought the same thing after they lost to Central earlier in the season.
Game is at Nederland, and District time is when games matter.  Not in tournaments.  Give huge coaching edge to Nederland.  Give best player on the floor edge to Central.  I'll take the Dogs at home.  If game was at Central I would give edge to the Jags.  What is so hard to understand about that?
Central beat Nederland at the Dog Dome in front of their fans...  Understaffed, man.  ;)
