  1. If it's ruled he moved for athletic reasons (which this clearly is), then residency won't matter. He will have to sit a year. I agree, after the DEC rules him ineligible, I can see them appealing it to SEC.
  2. Give me Kountze by 9 17-8
  3. First time in 8 years I finished outside the top 5. Slippin in my old age.
  4. Maybe because academics is what school is for. Sports is extracurricular and not mandatory. It's a privilege, not a right. Most do not want school choice. Sports is not part of the curriculum. It's extra. One can go thru K-12 without playing any sports and graduate.. One cannot do that without taking some English or math class. That's the difference.
  5. Astros with the 9-8 win. Abreu with the save. Blubaugh gets the win and deservedly so.
  6. Got to give Blubaugh some credit. He has eaten up some valuable innings for a depleted Astro bullpen. Gone 4 innings tonight, giving up just 2 runs on three hits, 4 K's, 1 BB.
  7. Walker with a 2 run HR in top of 7th. Houston's 4th HR of game (3rd two run bomb) Astros up 9-7, middle 7th.
  8. PN-G won by 3 TD's last year (39-17) Give me the Indians, 28-21.
  9. Houston pitching staff (three pitchers) have thrown 117 pitches in just 5 innings. 69 were strikes.
  10. De Los Santos has come in for Javier. Javier only went two innings. Not good.
  11. Javier with 65 pitches thru 2 innings. Looks like he won't last past the 4th. 5-5 after two.
  12. Javier not looking any better. Given up 3 runs, 2 hits and 3 BB in the first 9 hitters he has faced.
  13. Astros out to an early lead. Correa with a 2 run HR, Sanchez with a solo shot, Carantini with a two run HR in the first inning. Houston with 4 hits in the first. Three were dingers. 5-0 Astros
  14. This was my take on the game last year: Eisenhower has a really good soph. RB. He had over 120 yards rushing last night. Their O-line dominated WB up front. Bruins never had an answer for Ike's counter plays. QB was very mobile and helped extend plays when needed. Eisenhower not a bad team. West Brook offense is a struggle. The soph. QB will need time to grow. Threw 2 picks last night. Bruin run game was ineffective. Ike's front 4 was able to control line of scrimmage. WB has to get better up front to have any success this season. Bruins finished with less than 120 yards of total offense. BTW, Ike's QB from Warren started the game. Played first series then was replaced by #2 who was much more dynamic. He was the QB that I was told to be the starter.
  15. Ike did beat West Brook last season 27-17 in Beaumont. I was at that game. Ike wasn't bad at all. I got WB winning because I think the Bruins are going to be very good this season. Not sure about Ike going 0-10.
  16. Silsbee Tiger defense very good against the run Nederland Lumberton offense will not score enough Huffman Huffman clearly better all around Hardin-Jefferson HJ defense will shine in this one. Liberty Close one, Liberty has less turnovers Hamshire-Fannett LC-M without QB, HF will take advantage Livingston Livingston offense will be too much Bridge City BC defense will shut down Buna
  17. LC-M is without their starting QB for a couple of weeks. Give me HF, 27-14
  18. I was impressed with them at the first scrimmage. Lot's of speed and quickness. Was lot's of silver hats around the football.
  19. I'll be on the sidelines for this one. Looking forward to a great game. Now, where to have my pregame meal is the question. lol
  20. I disagree with McCullers pitching well. He walked 5 batters in 4 innings and pitch count was 87. That's not pitching "well". He could not have lasted another inning with that pitch count. Probably would have been blown up had he pitched another inning.
