Had the hotels and traffic not got so crazy, I would have had no problem with it staying there. Attended state tourney there every year starting with 1972. 43 years of it there. SA is hands down better than Austin is in hosting this event. That's from me being a fan and media member. Just better all around.

Up first for today 5A DII Championship 11am Fort Bend Marshall vs. Mansfield Summit

UIL did the right thing in bringing it to San Antonio. Much better in SA. Now that SXSW is in Austin, it's just not a good place to host any longer. Hotel prices are way too high and the traffic is so bad. Those last couple years in Austin was a complete mess. Teams had to stay 1 to 2 hours away from Austin to get reasonable hotel room prices. Then they had to deal with the traffic. UIL listened to everyone (admins, coaches, fans) and had to make the decision to move out of Austin. It just wasn't feasible any longer to stay in Austin. I am glad it's in SA. So much better overall. Good riddance to Austin. Hope it never goes back there.
