I think Texas Tech finishes somewhere between 7th-9th in the conference with an outside shot at the 6th spot. They really are not that good but can play well at times.

You are also forgetting( and obviously not wanting to admit ) the other common denominator that Hooks has been there all this time. Why isn't he held accountable for this so called mess? See that's what my entire problem with you guys is, you refuse to lay this at Dan Ray's feet. I find it very hard to believe that Dan Hooks just let's his OC have cart blanche with the play calling. If that is the case, then he has a built in excuse when things go bad. " It's not my fault, he called the play". I just can't see Dan Hooks being that way. Are you guys suggesting that Dan Hooks is so out of touch with the game that he can't intervene when this " so called dumb play calling " takes place and put a stop to it? Why do I have to keep reminding you guys that he is the head coach? Everything should go through him. Obviously he was okay with it when these plays were called that you guys seem to think cost you a game. Ever thought about the fact that the players just failed to execute? Look, we could go round and round about this, but the fact remains, a team wins and loses a game together, both players and coaches. I personally think that Dan Hooks is a great coach, it really goes without saying. Whoever he decides to have on his coaching staff I have to believe that they are worthy of that position. I trust Coach Hooks to know what he is doing, but you guys seem to don't trust him.

So what are you saying silverhat? That Hooks has little control over his coaching staff? That the play calling is done without his consent? That actually, Dan Hooks has little responsibilty over what goes on with his team? Are you saying that Dan Ray is just another Bobby Bowden, he just walks the sidelines for looks and gives interviews? You people! : As for the all staters that WOS had this year, kudos to them, but we do know that the AP all state team really is a farce, bunch of idiots picking those teams. See silverhat, this is what I am talking about. You got some WOS fans that will never admit that their team was less talented than a team that just beat them, it's all coaching. I don't buy that. Yes, year in and year out the Mustangs have a load of talent, but that doesn't mean that they won't run up against a team that's more talented. With how WOS numbers have dropped over the years, it's just inevitable. But somehow, you guys just can't see that. Heaven forbid that a WOS team get beat by a more talented and better team, it just has to be the coach's fault. : Well then, start at the top, fire Hooks! :

Yes I am dissappointed with my Aggies losing, they should have played better. I will not complain about the play calling, the offense was more diverse than they have been all year. The head man was forced to resign, not the OC. Those guys will lose their jobs because Sherman will want to bring in his own assistants, nature of the business. As for me being a fan of the WOS OC, I could care less. My gripe is you people coming on here wanting to lay the blame at the OC's feet for every loss and not at Hook's feet. He is the freaking head coach, the buck stops with him. Obviously Dan Hooks likes having this OC, he has been there a while. If he's good enough for Hooks, he's good enough for me.

The losses just keep coming for the Mustangs. That makes them what, 5-14 for the season? I believe WOS finishes the season with a losing record. I really didn't expect this.

I agree Dust Buster, particularly when it comes to a few of these WOS fans. They seem to think they can coach the Mustangs better than the great Dan Hooks. I think not.

Every team throws?? Liberty Hill has won the last 2 state championships and they might throw 1 or 2 passes a game.

Firts of all NedDog, the cable rates did not go up when those channels were put in place. Neither of those networks charged enough to cause the rates to increase. TWC absorbed those costs in order to provide more variety. What the NFL wants to charge is a whole different ballgame.

With the scenario you have posted, that would put Jasper in the 3rd spot, not Orangefield like you have posted.

Has nothing to do about him going to t.u. IMO, an athlete is someone who can excel at mulitple sports or in this case multiple positions. I think DJ is more athletic than Cody but that doesn't necessarily make him the better football player, just the better athlete.

I personally believe that DJ is the better athlete. Now, Cody had a better football season than DJ, but that doesn't make him the better athlete. Besides, you are comparing an offensive player to a defensive player, that's a little bit of apples and oranges.

Regarding the three teams you have that will battle it out for 3rd, they all will lose to HJ and Silsbee. Therefore it will be how they play each other as to who grabs that 3rd spot. I have seen WOS play a couple of times this year, to me they are not a playoff caliber team. I believe it will come down to Orangefield and Jasper. I think they will split home and home which will put an emphasis on there games with WOS. If both teams beat WOS each time, I see a playoff game between the Bobcats and the Bulldogs to determine the 3rd spot. Right now, I give Orangefield the edge. As for HJ and Silsbee, I'll comment on them at another time. ;D

I think you guys are missing the point here. First of all, I am not a Time Warner subscriber, I have Direct TV, so I don't have a dog in this hunt. But, if I were to pick sides in this matter, I would have to back Time Warner in this case. The scenario is this, the NFL wants to dictate to the cable companies where they should put their NFL Network at. The NFL wants them to put it on the basic tiers like where the ESPN's and Golf Channels are at. They also want the cable companies to pay them an ungodly amount of money to have their channel there. This would force the cable companies to raise their rates across the board, forcing subscribers who don't even watch the NFL to pay for it. What the cable companies want is for the NFL to agree to have their channel in the premium tiers like the HBO's or on the digital tiers where the cost is extra, which would allow the people that want to pay extra for the channel to be only effected. The NFL wants their network where everyone can see it regardless if they watch it or not but pay for it anyway. What it comes down to is simply out and out greed. The NFL is the richest professional sports entity in the world, but to them, they can never have enough money. They are the proverbial 800 pound gorilla trying to bully everyone to get what they want. I applaud the cable companies for standing up for ALL their subscribers, not just the football fans.

Not a good year for them. I look for the Mustangs to have 7-9 district losses this year. No playoffs for them.

I know one things for sure, I'll be there broadcasting this game as a Setxsports.com game of the week. So far, I have picked some good ones, this one should be just as good. I am looking forward to it. Oh, BTW, I hope you guys realize what I am giving up that night. A chance to see HJ play my Silsbee Tigers. What I do for this website. ;D
