On the surface your correct. I can tell you this, the coaching staff are just as fired up about the underclass men as they are about the seniors. From what they say, "if everything works out, next years team will be better than this year". I keep hearing about the freshman group this year, they are bigger, makes you think about Vidor teams of the 70's and 80's. They just keep coming. Heard about the Kellogg kid a couple of days ago. I am curious as to why he went back? Also, I wonder if he thinks he can comeback and enroll at BC later in the year to play baseball? $20 bucks is dirt cheap for a college football game, particularly a season ticket. I think Lamar could get $35 for reserved and $25 for GA.

Shooter, I understand that you need to be positive and upbeat about your team. That's your job along with teaching these kids. I applaud that, sincerely. I think you have done a heck of a job up there. You and your team are to be commended. As for predictions, well I said that Jasper would finish 4th and miss the playoffs last year, not 6th or 7th. They proved me wrong in a big way. As for this year's predictions, well I had not made one on Jasper till yesterday and as you can see, I picked them 3rd, making the playoffs, just no deep run. That's a far cry from 6th or 7th. I don't know where you are getting this "many folks" predicting Jasper to be 6th or 7th this year. Again, what you guys did last year was phenomenal, you guys made history there in Jasper. You and the town should definitely be proud. I for one was happy to finally see a Jasper basketball team succeed at that level. But, it was just one year. Yes, it's a start, but let's see how the program goes the next couple of years. I ate tons of crow last year when considering Jasper. BUT THAT WAS LAST YEAR!!! Mark this down, Jasper, I repeat, Jasper will not make it to the regional finals! They will make the playoffs as the 3rd place team but will lose early in the playoffs. Oh, and Silsbee will beat them by 20! ;D ;D ;D ;D (let the games begin)

WHAT???? Silsbee has won 3 of the last 5 against HJ with one of those wins in a regional final and another the #1 seeding game for district.

I think it maybe Coach Collins, but not sure. He has been the Middle school coach for several years now, don't know if he is going to move up or not. He seems to like it down there. Maybe Clay can come apply for the Silsbee Freshman job. Would be a step up. ;D

Speaking of Kelly football, I also saw where they are scrimmaging Hardin on the 15th. But on Silsbee's schedule, they have themselves scrimmaging Kelly on the 15th.
