1.
Beeninnikes said that Coldspring lost to Lovelady the week before on their bye night in the district!!!!
Doesn't surprise me. Coldspring lost to Orangefield by 12. Coldspring is not the team they had last year. I see them losing the first round to our #3 seed. Question is, how does Cleveland lose to this team after beating them by 43 just two weeks ago?
 2.
Now that the Tigers don't have to play an extra game for seeding, will they play a warm up game and if so who might it be against?
Yes, Silsbee will play a warmup game. It will soon be announced who their opponent will be. ;)
 3. Now that Silsbee has wrapped up the district title (with the help from WOS), we can now look ahead to who will face the Tigers in the Area (2nd) round. Silsbee gets the bye in the first round and will face the district 24-3A #2 seed in the 2nd round. All three seeds in district 24-3A get a first round bye due to the fact there is no district 23-3A. Right now, Bryan Rudder and Navasota are virtually tied for 1st in that district. Navasota is 10-2 and has finished district play while Rudder is 9-2 and has one game left against Caldwell. With a win, Rudder will tie Navasota for 1st in the district and they will need to playoff for the #1 seed. These two teams split their games in district with Navasota beating Rudder the first game, 84-64 but Rudder evened things up just this past Friday night, winning 77-70. Navasota could have clinched an outright district title if they could have won Friday night. Rudder should win Tuesday night against Caldwell, forcing the tie with Navasota. (Rudder defeated Caldwell the first time around, 88-38) The winner of that tiebreaker would get the #1 seed and would play the winner between the 21-3A #2 seed (currently held by HJ) and the #3 seed of 22-3A (Tarkington) in the Area (2nd) round. The loser would get the #2 seed and play Silsbee in the Area (2nd) round. I predict a Navasota victory in the tiebreaker game and Silsbee will face Rudder in the Area round.

 9.
Does this leave these two tied in district?
No, Cleveland is 10-1, Coldspring is 9-2. Coldspring lost to Tarkington 85-83 a couple of games ago. Coldsprings other loss was to Cleveland, 82-39. Cleveland will finish 1st, followed by Coldspring and then Tarkington.
 10.
Great to see kids get recognition for all parts of the game. Most of the talk is about scoring but there is an art to shot blocking and it also takes a ton of hard work and heart.Congrats Avory
I agree whsalum. Last year Avory blocked shots but would pick up fouls doing it. This year he has worked on his timing and spacing and has really flourished in that department. He has recorded 10 block shots twice in a game this year. Avory really has picked up his overall game this year averaging 12 points, 12 boards and 6 block shots.
 11. Back on topic please. This thread is about Avory Thomas, not Big Sandy.

 17.
Man.....I remember Eddie...I spoke with him after he signed with SHSU. He wanted to stay here but was not recruited by Lamar.
Yep, Deane regretted recruiting him because Eddie ended up being a Cardinal killer. Eddie's best games were against Lamar with his best being a 24 point, 20 rebound, 5 block shot game at the Montagne his senior year.
 18. After getting 6 block shots tonight in the Tigers win over Hamshire-Fannett, Silsbee's senior '6"6 post Avory Thomas has now set the new single season block shot mark at Silsbee High school with 166 on the season. Thomas break's the old mark of 162 set by former Tiger and Sam Houston post Eddie Fobbs. Congrats Avory on making your mark in Silsbee Tiger basketball history!!
 19. According to the stats from the replay, Grayson scored 25 tonight.
 20.

Wonder how far Cleveland will drop in the rankings  ???
None, they will still be the #1 team in region 3 I would think and Silsbee will be right under them.  HJ is going to go below 10, and WOS may see the top 25. I've seen on the girls side #7 beat #6 by 30 pts, and the next week nothing changed.  ::)
Something tells me you'll see Cleveland drop in the polls. You lose a district game to a team that has lost 15 games this season, you will drop.
 21. Just finished watching the replay. Congrats to Coach Don Newton and the WOS Mustangs. Great win for the Mustang basketball program.
