  1. Lets see why would a school teacher in Houston care about our transportation issue? Well anyway atleast your not one of those very out of touch with reality and very USELESS board members! I don't think that anyone argues that WOS is one of the few schools that gets bussed from activities, but we are saying that this is a need here and has been a need for some time! Whose fault is it that these kids aren't prepared to take these tests? How many times have some of these campuses been unacceptable? What personnel changes have been made at these unacceptable campuses? Who is held accountable? What is going on here has very little to do with anthing else but a few childlike board members with personal issues with certain people in the district and they are using what LITTLE power they have to get back at these people! wosUTRICEalum, It does bother me that you don't think a parent should be concerned about the safety of their child and only the education. Lets see here you call yourself wosUTRICEalum, I think one of our board members is a UT and RICE alum! I will say this wosUTRICEalum you are a I do think that you should be thankful that you are teaching in Houston and not one of those Pathetic people that call themselves caring about the future of our kids and district! Lets see isn't it the duty of a board member to keep the district out of debt? How did WOS get to be all the sudden get in 2.8 million dollars of debt? Who is responsible for that? Who is being held accountable? You can't blame everything on the kids or Coach Hooks! As a matter of fact if Coach Hooks would have only won 30% of his games like some of WOS schools passing 30% of the TAKS, then he would be fired! Who is held accountable by these genius board members? wosUTRICEalum just remember this, what happens in the dark will come to the light! Coop thinks it is the best post. Can't be with the accusation of this poster being a board member. wosUTRICEalum works for the Galena Park school district, this is fact.
  2. I am talking about glass houses here. Nothing about if HJ can win big, so should Silsbee or if anyone is being "mean" to Silsbee. The fact is, I was at the game and I know for a fact the score was not intentionaly run up on BC, it just fell that way. Same as this game from two years ago. It's funny that people who did not attend games know the story of it based simply off the score. :
  3. I brought this thread back to show a couple(not all) HJ fans how the shoe is on the other foot. Donahoe almost outscores the entire opponent and is commented that if he hadn't fould out, he would have had more. Question for Bullets, why was he still playing in the 4th with that big of a lead? Note, no one has criticized HJ in this thread. i can tell you exactly why he was still in the game even though hj was winning by alot. the school record was 58 points in one game. coach sutherland wanted to see if donahoe could break it. but he ended up fouling out. Let me make it perfectly clear, I have no problem with Donahoe still being in this game. I was just asking a rhetorical question.
  4. 166-51!!! Enough said.
  5. Donahoe fouled out in the middle of the 4th. Obviously the subs didn't need that much work if he was still playing. As for the Silsbee game, I think I have explained that one already. My point about these two games is nobody criticized this game but funny how some come on and question the Silsbee game.
  6. Nope, '77 Chevy Nova, 4 door. I could cram about 7 of us basketball players in there.
  7. Ending this bus program will not be the end all for the WOS athletic program. They will find a way to get the kids home. I was fortunate to have my own car when I was in high school, but alot of my teammates did not. But the ones that did, like myself, took our teammates home and it did not matter of race, religion, or social status either.
  8. I see your point. But it is not like the basketball forum back in '07 was a ghost town. That was when HJ won their state title and there was plenty of banter going on between Silsbee and HJ. I just think that nobody else posted on this thread because they were okay with the results. There was nothing to criticize.
  9. This just sums it all up. Great post!!
  10. In 2007, we still had over 5,000 though.
  11. I brought this thread back to show a couple(not all) HJ fans how the shoe is on the other foot. 12. I am assuming that this is in no particular order of each district. Why? Is he not allowed to predict a district winner?
  13. Like this is news. Everyone knew that the AG would rule against it. :
  14. Yes, Troup was loaded. They went to the state finals 5 straight years. Here are their results: '90 Lost to Ingram-Moore 73-72 '91 Lost to Abernathy 55-46 '92 Won over Krum 60-40 '93 Won over Amarillo HP 69-49 '94 Lost to Krum 56-45
  15. That's him!!! Greg Austin, he was a stud for sure.
  16. I remember that Troup team. Jasper was a biggen inside. The '6"5 swingman was the man though. I'll remember his name before the day is up. He could fill it up.
  17. I thought that was the game that I was thinking about. After looking over the scores that Nos posted, it was the Hardin game that I remembered. 166-51!!!!! Bullets talking about us averaging 26 points a quarter then scoring 32 in the fourth. HJ averaged over 40 a quarter in that game!
  18. Thanks, Nos. I do have a question for you. How in the world did Troup and Barbers Hill keep you guys under 60 points? ;D btw, you guys see that 151-44 score?
  19. Oh, I am quite sure there was criticism. Glass houses.
  20. There is no point to this, Joey. It's just the media wanting to shed some more tears over this. :
  21. See, I thought I was correct on that. I just couldn't remember who they beat but I knew it was around 100 points. Actually 107! I am almost positive it was at Hardin and that was the game that Isabell had 50 points!!!! Now see, you got folks on here being criticle about our game when in this one, a single player had double the points as the opposing team had!!
  22. Yeah! Baby needs a new pair of shoes!!!
  23. See, I thought I was correct on that. I just couldn't remember who they beat but I knew it was around 100 points. Actually 107!
  24. Silsbee will not score 100 in this game, trust me on that one. Silsbee takes this one, 79-60.
